I'm thinking it'll be mellow for two reasons - 1) He'll be a Dad, and 2) He's said many times that his recent graft with SYL has left him all heavied-out. I absolutely love his mellow stuff, more so than SYL, so I can't wait! But what do other people think?

I can't imagine Devin doing anything big in 2007. I think he'll tour a bit with SYL and DTB, but not release anything major. If he releases anything it'll be something like Devlab or The Hummer, something he can do while being a father to a newborn baby, nothing major.

Is it just 4 minutes and 33 seconds of pure silence?

by what i know, goes like this:
John Cage wanted to prove that silence is a part of music. And from silence, it´d spurt the "music" from the audience.
So it went like this: there was this big concerto, with a full audience. He went up to the piano, everyone applaused a lot, he sat down and people got silent. He put himself in that pre-piano-concerto position...... and just stood there. For the first few seconds, everyone was silent, thinking he was just getting ready to start. Then some whispering started, then more and more
in the end there was this big mess of people booing him and a whole lot of noise spurted from the audience, just as he planned. And after 4 minutes and 33 seconds, he stood up, took a bow to the audience, and then left.
Awesomeness in a high level :D

I weep at the pure kick assness of the thought. What a total mindfunk. I wouldn't have booed, I'd have applauded. Why give the audience what they want? You get that with the "product"...give 'em what they NEED...catharsis, anger, a reaction. How kick ass.

A solo guitar record, not acoustic, in the vein of satriani :)

Mwahahahaha, now that is REALLY the last thing I expect from Devin. Or a statement that he can do Passion&Warfare like no problem, just as Vai said for City. Hahahahaha. Those two should battle it out. Dev should do a solo Paganini style solely on the low G string.

Sunshine and Happiness always seemed like the kinda thing Ginger would write for solo material to me for some reason, I love it...

Oh dear god I hope not!!

I hope if Devin does something, it will be something none of us have thought of :)...or the acoustic album would rule. I'm happy to wait though

Personally, I hope Devy comes out and tears me a new as5hole. I like the soft stuff, but... I think I like the hard stuff more!

I don't think he'll do anything big in 2007.

But what I'd like to hear is an album with a lot of singing.
Like Pavarotti style singing, a lot of vibrato.
You hear Devin's wonderful vibrato too seldom.

A SYL album with his baby as vocalist!

Anyway, i'm pretty sure we'll hear the baby's voice in his future recordings.
