I don't know, I voted for Terria but to be honest the 'Big Four' (OM, Infinity, Terria and Synchestra) are so close it seems kind of vulgar to pick just one. They almost sound like one big multi-part album to me, as they each focus on different sides of Dev's musical personality.

I definitely think that the heat on Synchestra will abate a little as the novelty wears off, but I don't think it'll be by that much. It is an amazingly strong record.

Ocean Machine, but i haven`t heard Infinity jet.

Infinity is a classic for me, huge, atmospheric, brilliant guitar, massive sound, fantastic lyrics and just amazing songs!

It still surprises me that Infinity isnt more popular among Dev fans...

I think it's popular. I just think that most Dev fans like ALL of his shit a lot and it's hard to make a choice. I fucking dig Infinity, but I really fucking dig Ocean Machine and Terria. It's not as if I don't like Infinity much. I mean, if had to take ten albums on a desert island, I'd have to have at least five of them be DTB and one of them would likely be Infinity because I'd have to be able to hear Unity and Truth still.

How retarded are desert island lists now that we have mp3's and iPods?

IMO Terria is the perfect balance between his emotion, beauty and originality. Followed closely by Infinity, which is just so amazingly original and powerful. The Accelerated Evolution, Ocean Machine and Synchestra are about tied, all for different reasons (not weird enough, not evolved enough and too long respectively).

Physicist and Devlab, while I love them I can't really rate them compared to other Dev albums just because they are so different, I think both in Devin's goals as to what he wanted them to sound like and what mood I'm in when I listen to them.

Well, synchestra is my favorite because it's almost the exact way I would write an album if I had the skill and the gift that devy has. This new album synchestra should make them bigger, but the right way and without selling out.
