a toss up between ocean machine and psyicist(the most underrated album of all time). the other three come in a very, very close second

I voted Terria, though I will always have a soft spot for Ocean Machine and I love the new album. I love them all, really. Except I need more time for Physicist (it's only been about two years so far).

Terria is a classic masterpiece. The best song on there that I didn't notice much at first is Canada, and Mountain is really cool too. The others are all obviously cool; those two took some more work for me.

Oh, and I love Infinity even though I didn't mention that. My sig is from it, so that should give a clue. Man, I could ramble about Dev songs forever.

Hmmm....THATS A TOUGHY!....man....so many different things that make every album amazing...Like:

Ocean Machine seemed very raw and somewhat basic in comparasion to the others, which gives this one noteriety cause this was his first solo release and to have a first offer so much for someone to take with them after listening to it.

Infinity on the otherhand was just an INSANE album....listening to it from beginning to end gives someone that anticipation of "What can he possibly do next!" cause every song on that album is so much more different than it's predecessor classic examples going from "Truth" and "Christeen" to songs like "Bad Devil" and "Ants"

Physicist had a theme that I think I may have missed, I guess since it was the first Devin cd I owned I really wasn't looking for a deeper meaning, but the CD extra on the album definately helped with that one *thanks Dev!*...but all in all it was kinda like the Strapping album that never existed....all the members with the elements and sound of strapping but much softer and more experimental...The perfect album for a strapping fan to start off with if wanting to get into Devin's solo stuff.

Terria I am at a loss of words withit was the first cd that I had ever listened to that completely took me away from beginning to end...The first time I listened to it I got COMPLETELY lost in the guitar work during Deep Peace and went from there...Plus Dev seemed to wanna take his voice to different limits with this album you can definately see progress if you compare his work on this one to the work on Ocean Machine....Truely a Work of Art!

Accelerated Evolution had surpassed all the expectations I had given what I was told by friends and from what I read in interviews...it was a perfect follow up to Terria and yet again still kept me on the edge of my seat thruout the whole album...I just didn't want it to end....having songs like "Storm", "Away", and "Deadhead" which can lift you away and take you to different level of listening, and mixing it up with awesome down to earth rock tunes like "Deadhead" and "Random Analysis"...not Terria, but the perfect followup album!!!

anyways now that I have bored you all with my rabts I will say that this is MY OPINION and only reflects my take on the albums....but yeah I'd definately say that Terria was my favorite By a landslide....but also very noteworthy was The Christeen E.P. because it contains probably my favorite Devin song at the moment "Sit In The Mountain"....and if yer a fan of punk and just can;t Feckin stand that crap that sells as punk otherwise known as POP punk *shiver* pick up Punky Bruster - Cooked On Phonics....I was in tears I was laughing so hard throughout the WHOLE CD!

Anyone who made it this far reading this, Thanks for your time \m/ \m/

Ive always loved Ocean Machine, yet right now im listening to Terria. Its showing me that its everything Ocean Machine was in its own way. I think Ocean Machine was the best devin could do at that point in his life, which is pure genius in itself. And i think Terria is as good as he could do also, i think they are equally as good as each other but in different ways because of the different things devin was going through.

I even think Physicist was great, Planet Rain cant go unnoticed, i really enjoy that song everytime i hear it, i close my eyes and just think about stuff. Physicist is really quite out of control, but im also Bi Polar like devin, and i think emotionally disoriented people have times where things are just a mess, and confusing, and out of control like Physicist, we all have our bad days, and i think Physicist is a sortof beauty in chaos type of thing.

Infinity is just great also, whacky but melodic and uplifting, people have already said a lot about it, and id just be rambling on and on here if i continued, and so im just going to say Ocean Machine is my favorite if i had to choose, maybe its because its the first one i heard and listened to over and over and over, but all his albums have an equally important meaning to me, and i believe are equally written in their respect, so ill just leave it as that.

Yet, AE did get a little too poppy at times, but being a diehard death metal/gore/grind fan i guess almost anything can sound poppy, but i still think the songs are good, like Slow Me Down, and Traveller, although they are poppy, still very nice songs.

Project Eko is cool too, i sortof wish devin would do more things like that, experiment like that more, maybe fuse it more into his solo work or something.

Anyways, Thanks for reading if you did.

Keep up the good work DTB

So I guess this has been just another vote proving that Ocean Machine and Terria are considered Devin's best, and Physicist is the least favourite album. The UM forums showed a similar result, and also reviews on Amazon have produced similar results.

I was completely torn between Ocean Machine and Terria, I love them both, but I think Terria just edges it..........I think...........can I vote again? :(

I'm in the minority, but i have to say I've probably listened to Physicist more than any other Devin release, apart from SYL. Come on; Namaste bloody rules! I can't think of another album that tears me between loving the whole world or putting a sledgehammer through my drywall as much as this album does. :D

i went for infinity, but i really don't know. it's always changing, usually between Infinity and Terria.
I chose infinity because i guess i find it the most impressive, because of the sheer effort and mental strain from Devin you can basically 'hear' on the album. sometimes i find it easier to get into his other albums, but on the writing and recording side of things infinity is just
it completely sends you on a trip, much like his other albums, but just... in a different less describable way i suppose :)

I'm hopelessly addicted to Accelerated Evolution and Infinity right now. "Bad Devil" and "Deadhead" are both coming through my speakers 24/7. However, tomorrow it'll be Terria. "Earth Day" has been sneaking in alot of playtime.

pff... that's a difficult one...
I actually like all his albums a lot. Sometimes when I'm in a mellow mood I'll put on OM, but there are times when I'm in a aggresive mood and I put on Physicist, which I still like because of the beautiful mix of aggresiveness and melodies.
But as a musician I have to say Infinity, because it's just a great album, production-wise, there are great songs on it, the guitarwork is excellent, and erm... it's got Bad Devil on it!

Hey Geoff,

Is there really no reason to make this one a sticky? I'm asking cause the result are a good thing in the way that they give a new Devin fan an idea as to which CDs to check out first.

Just my humble opinion.
