Fuck everyone who is awesome. Including you.

Everything's an illusion, except that thing there...

I wish my back allowed me to stretch 4 more inches.

Fuck raisins.

I don't know what any of this means, but I love it....

For starters, it apparently means they have unusually large sized raisins in Canada (I can't even fuck an American sized grape, let alone one that's been shrunken in the sun).

Talk about Jeff Beck instead, because that's what's up.

35? I'm 41 and Hendrix was well before my time. A "35+ dude" (unless it's + 15 or 20 years) would be saying Van Halen or Randy Rhoads, or even later guitarists (Vai, Satriani, or any of the 80's "shred" guys).

I fully agree with what else you had to say though.

I so feel you on this.

Jimi was great though. He broke "rules" and rock n' roll traditions in his showmanship, and taught all of us about the concept of distortion. I don't really care for his music....but much respect. I know I wouldn't be here (as a guitarist) without him.

I enjoy listening to Hendrix every now and then and I've always had huge respect for the guy. I hear some people saying that his music hasn't aged well.. I strongly disagree. I think the songs and his guitar playing still sound awesome by todays standards.

I'm just saying it was a hot frustrating day bouncing tons of complicated files, and the jamming in the background irritated me.

I listened again, and yeah...he was a blinding force.

I should have had the Simpsons on I guess.

No disrespect.

See that was the problem, you were jamming it in the background as background music while irritated. With Jimi you don't just listen to the music, you hear the music ... ahh enough of the rant. No disrespect here.

Question: How the hell do you fuck a raisin? Inquiring minds want to know.

I can understand how one would consider his jams meandering...(hi, acid!) however, even then if you find certain performances-he's just mind blowing. Still, his recordings are what really gets to me. I often think to myself: "My god-how the hell did he come up with that!"
He barely had any formal musical knowledge and half the shit he did, very few -if any- people did it before.

The mark of a good songwriter/musician (imo) is that he/she [i]feels[i]they're playing- watch any video of him and it's obvious he plays from nowhere but the soul.

Are You Experienced turned me into a guitarist and subsequently a songwriter. I love the man!...I just wish he could have stuck around-I feel his style would have become a bit "refined" with age.

I agree, he was a natural.

My taste is DEFINITELY Jeff Beck though. He kills me. He's so connected to that instrument it's amazing.

What with? They're very small....unless you have some sort of mutant size raisins where you're from....or you're VERY precise...?

Never truely got into Hendrix. I guess my dad singing along to stuff ruins it for me.

What is with Jeff Beck continuing to dye his hair black while sporting white stubble though?

He and Gary Moore could do pantomime of Cinderella as the Ugly sisters of rock.

I'd love to see Beck and Jimmy Page finally slug it out over who did what on Beck's Bolero.

Apropos Hendrix, very little of the techniques we take for granted as the lingua franca of rock guitar would exist had it not been for Jimi.

But then, I'm 41 too, so I would say that.

I'd have to agree that Beck is better than Hendrix.

And do not misquote me on this, Hendrix was absolutely ahead of his time.

But I'll go a step farther and say that Peter Frampton was even farther ahead of his time than Hendrix ever could have been.
