No idea where it's going, or the level of seriousness behind it, but not to sound like a stalker or anything, I think I might try to catch as many dates as I can on this provided it hits a ton of spots around the NY/New England Area. Unfortunatley, I've never seen Dev solo and I only saw SYL twice in abbreviated 20 minute sets (thanx to Ozzfest, sounds of the underpants), it would be nice to see the full on show.

I hope that Gaia, Hyperdrive, truth, Christeen and some Ocean Machine stuff will be in the set.

I was just listening to an interview with Dev where he mentions he was at a Gibson convention thingy... A guy approached him to tour a festival in Australia. I can only assume that would be Soundwave festival... It feels like a kick in the balls that he would turn this down, as it would mean Devin Townsend alongside Faith no More, alongside Meshuggah, alongside some other real cool bands .

I would do ANYTHING to make it happen... I guess I can't be too selfish. I've never seen Dev live before. I'm sure he has plenty of reasons for not coming out, it was possibly an offer for Strapping to tour, which we know won't happen.
I just hope that he does come to Australia at some point.

Melbourne, Australia would totally rule. I have only seen SYL once, when they were touring the SYL album. They came to Perth but had already sold out of t shirts. It was awesome, I met Dev and he signed my copy of City, then my gf met them at the airport and got the rest of the band to sign it.

Back on topic, I would far prefer a solo club show to soundwave or BDO.... festivals arwe pretty terrible. I went to NIN and Unearth shows last year and they were heaps better than Soundwave which I also went to.

If not Australia somewhere in south east asia that is cheap to travel to, or a bank loan and I am on my way to Europe or North America, wherever I can see most shows for least cash.

Or Melbourne.

Man, this thread alone makes me anxious as hell :D! Ever since i'm hooked to the Dev, i REALLY REALLY REALLY want to see him live :D But what are the chances are he will visit the Netherlands (curse my relatively unknown and small country). But anywhere close to Germany or the UK would be great, i would sure as hell travel to see this :)

I think I would die and go to "heaven" at a Faith No More/Dev show. throw Cave In, Bleeding Through, Protest The Hero, Unearth, and a reunited Failure on it and it would be the best show ever.

I missed the Devin Townsend Band last time they toured, so there is no way in hell I'm missing this tour if they come anywhere close to me, which since we're all plugging our respective locations is Los Angeles...

I'm going to start lobbying for Anneke's band to play on this tour. I also hope there are more Midwestern cities than Chicago or Cleveland.

Last time I saw Dev, it got kind of embarassing in line. The girl decided we were frickin awesome by virtue of road tripping and started this pissing contest with anyone in ear shot. Guy in frontturned out to be some sort of Encyclopedia Devtanica but she kept trying to one-up him. Finally got to bragging about how many time's we'd seen SYL and the guy distractedly said "Yeah. I've only seen then ten... no wait 11 times" as he flagged down a security guard to make sure he headed in the right direction for guest list. To top *that* off, next sighting of the dude was in a restaurant at Dev's table. D'OH!

May sound sad but this is the best news I've heard in so long! Dev's become my favourite artist by I only got into him about the time that he said he was calling it quits on live stuff. Assuming he comes to the UK I will be at as many dates as is humanly possible!! :D

i have never seen devin on tour in any outfit of his, so this is exciting news even if it's several months away. hopefully he tours the united states extensively and comes near new england. i'm willing to drive a few hours if i have to, but seeing a show in my home state would be nice too :D
