I would personally love to hear Devin's attempt at minemalistic music. An all-vocal album would be sweet, too. Or film-noir or something. just something radically different for him. :)

i feel so cult for getting your joke :D

Hahahaha! John Cage was a god. If it weren't for him putting bricks and shit in his piano the keyboard wouldn't exist!

the almighty gods of the piano said "someone send an emissaire to build a piano with no strings, before that man ruins any more of ours!", then there was the keyboard :D

Well Synchestra was an amazing album, and The New Black has been the best SYL release since City.

Devin and the groups only get better, so, expect good things in 2007.

Yeah, as much as it would be cool for a few songs, I think a whole album of just vox could get a little stale, but maybe have it as a side thing like Project EKO was with AE.

Dude, yes, that's what I was thinking. Something like... Hmm, i dunno, take the second half of Babysong, take the guitars out, add more vocal parts.

It'd be interesting!

okay
i was holding myself not to say anything, because ME saying what DEV should do is an outrage.
BUT
it'd be awesome if he did an one-hour long conceptual follow up to the hidden track after Exciter on HAARHT :D

Only European copy's of the CD contain Exciter, unfortunately.

Very true about John Cage, the man was a genius. I also feel a little cult after getting that myself, actually a little bit dorky.

Anyway, first and foremost, I hope Devin gets that rest and such that he deserves so much. I wanna make sure that comes first, because he's really earned it. After that, I wouldn't mind hearing something a bit more mellow or experimental.

I just looked up this 4'33" thing and, it may just be because I'm really tired, but I didn't get it at all....

Is it just 4 minutes and 33 seconds of pure silence?

That piece is more about the concept. I'm pretty sure the idea behind the piece is to show that music is all around us, even though we don't realise it. Don't quote me on it though.
