Now Devin should listen to more Porcupine Tree. I heard he liked In Absentia, but Wilson is a lot like Devin as a musical artist, and they deserve to listen to each others music. Devin follows more of a metal path and has a more abstract mind, but they are both extremely talented at stream of consciousness songwriting.

I agree! Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree is one of my favorite bands, and I've often times found myself fantasizing about SW and Dev collaborating on some side-project (SW is just as, if not more, prolific than Dev). Now that would be amazing!

agreed...besides the obvious rock/metal stuff that they could do, I could see them both work together on a really amazing ambient Album after hearing both Devlab and some Bass Communion. I think they would work well together on so many different levels.

now a bit more on topic..I like some Radiohead for sure...but a lot of their stuff to me sounds like they are trying a bit TOO hard to do anything they can not to sound mainstream.

Am I reading this correctly when I think that you would say "National Anthem" is a weak spot? You're so contradictory, man!

Yeah... I LOVE every track on this but I only like "National Anthem"... I think that "Motion Picture Soundtrack" is the single greatest radiohead song in existence and that "How to Dissapear Completely" is a close second, "Treefingers" blows me away and "In Limbo" is fucking incredible... Kid A is the shit.

Looks like I'm gonna have to listen to Kid A again tonight. :-) You make it sound so good.

What's your point? It's not even a fair comparison since they do totally different types of music. If Devin was to perform "Paranoid Android", it wouldn't be the same. Likewise, I doubt Radiohead could pull off "Oh My Fucking God". There really is no comparison to be made...

Devin and Thom Yorke are two of my favorite singers. Devin is far more dynamic in his delivery, and of course more intense, but few can match the melancholic beauty of Yorke's voice.
