RVP confirmed that Sit In The Mountain has been re-recorded for Synchestra, but it didn't fit the 'flow' of the album so it was left out.

No way, should have been a secret track! Wasnt Notes From Africa written about the same time as Sit in The Mountain?? I remember it was on the first tracklisting of Terria, then dissapeared till Synchestra...

It was a Terria-era track, if my brain serves. I also think Devin said the original isn't really like the Synchestra version.

I'd love to hear a variant of SITM. Since we're getting a new Hyperdrive and all....

Something like that would be pretty sweet alright.

But for myself such things always come as somewhat of a double edged sword.
On the one hand I'm all into the "Whoo-hoo new material! ANY new material! WHOO-HOO!!!" vibe.
But then the other side of my brain starts chiming in with the whole "Well if Dev thought it was any good it'd be on an album you drooling fanboy loser" kind of buzz.

My brain is mean...

Heh heh.

On the bright side though your second wish will indeed come true as Dev will be releasing a box set of all four of these new albums bundled with four bonus CDs of jams and tracks not on the albums and a DVD of the whole recording process.

You know?
Just in case you were starting to think he wasn't an all round frickin' awesome guy.

gotta say i first heard dev when he brang out infinity and have loved him ever since.
ive been following his progress on these boards for awhile and through other sources and the amount of songs ive heard him talk about either new or re-done but never made it onto the final product has been disapointing but i guess its his decision with what fits with the theme and what not.

but i would most defently love to hear these on a CD sometime. specially 'Sit in the mountain' one of my all time fav dev songs!

What gave it away? Was it that the EP is called "Christeen (Plus Four Demos)"?

So I downloaded the torrent from http://www.mininova.org/det/2531809 and now have no idea how to open/access the files (it's a .torrent file that no program I have can open). I've never used a torrent site before. Can anyone help? Thanks!
