Tell me that couldn't be the closing credits to any movie from the 1990s.

It couldn't be the closing credits to any movie from the 90s, because it was released in 2001...

But otherwise I see where you're coming from. I got the same kind of feel from Mostly Autumn - A Different Sky too. Both are that kind of happy ending credit songs where you can imagne this car driving to the distance distance with credits rolling or something like that...

Oh my...as much as I would love to hear Deadhead on the radio...not like that. That wouldn't be the same song at all! The vocal parts are incredible, but they don't make up the song. With that being said, I think that Storm and Slow Me Down could be big hits from AE, as well as Gaia from Synchestra. There are others too, of course. I actually used to hear Planet Smasher on a late night heavy metal radio show around here, and it worked pretty well as a stand-alone, believe it or not. I still prefer listening to his albums the way they were meant to be, though! :guitar:

Here in Vancouver its quite sad that dev almost never gets radio play. I would rather hear dev once a day over half of the other crap that qualifies as canadian content. I also agree with the above poster and would be a little miffed if i was to hear a devy tune radio edit.

^Agreed, but the cool thing is that Dev still has a decent amount of songs that would fit the radio length.

On the finnish radio program "Metalliliitto" (translates roughly to "Metal United") I've actually heard two songs off Ki: Gato and Heaven Send. I'm pretty sure the guy who hosts it will also play a few songs off Addicted whenever it's released.

i think Oh my fucking god would be a super cool family freindly number 1 hit all over the world, although i have been known to be a little sarcastic from time to time....

i think devins most commercial song is slow me down but im hoping there will be a couple of songs on addicted that will blow that away!

My gut reaction to the question was Slow Me Down. Has definite pop sensibilities right from the start, and always makes me smile. Especially the "nobody knoooooooowws..." bit near the end. AND it's still kinda heavy in an old school 80s rock kinda way... sweet. Oh yeah, and the little ambient sweep during "... through the stars. Forever we roam" is great too. It reminds me of Queen's use of ambient samples... or something.

I also think Gaia has plenty of appeal to the mainstream.

Actually, just remembered, UK fans, anyone remember Total Rock Radio which was around until a few years ago on Sky radio channels?????

DJ Krusher played Slow Me Down, Sunday Afternoon and Away during one of his shows just before the release of A.E and he also played Aftermath everyday in the two weeks before SYL came out in the UK. That guy was awesome dont know why the station went out of buisiness...

I find it criminal that "Sit in the Mountain" didn't get picked up by radio stations. You wanna talk about catchy, god damn! Same with "Stagnant," "The Fluke," "Slow Me Down," "Hyperdrive" and "The Greys." But I guess everyone said that already :P
