Devin Townsend is without a doubt, my all-time favourite musician in the entire universe.

Moonsorrow is my favourite band but Opeth, Syl and of course Dtb are not far.

Devin´s music (Dtb & SYL) is a true inspiration for me. I love his music.
But my favourite Band of all time has to be:

PANTERA

then Devin, Opeth, Led Zeppelin, A Perfect Circle, Simon & Garfunkel, In Flames, Life of Agony and Morbid Angel.

I'm first and foremost a Dream Theater fan,but Dev has become a close second in the last year.

DTB isn't my favourite band, but Devin is unquestionably my favourite artist/musician/songwriter, and has been since I first heard SYL in 1995. That's more than 10 years at the top of the heap for me so far, and I don't see any reason why that wouldn't continue. He consistently releases thoughtful, inspiring, quality albums - all of which sound absolutely impeccable, are musically challenging, emotionally powerful and technically flawless. Every album contains great performances, both from the Dev himself and all the musicians he surrounds himself with. Plus, he's like a jazz musician in that he releases an album pretty much every single year. And sometimes more than one! And that's not even counting "special" albums like Devlab or Ass-Sordid Demos. The man is a fucking workhorse, and deserves continuous rapturous applause.

However, having said that, my favourite band at the moment is still Coheed and Cambria.

Oh, and Cog.

Rush is my favorite band of all time and likely always will be. But, Devin Townsend (Band) has pulled into the number 2 slot.

I think i can safely say Devin is my favourite Metal artist, hell i hardly even listen to much metal these days But the Dec keeps putting out awesome albums, its very hard to grow out of his sound

On a side note how good are Cog! Does anyone outside of Australia even know who they are? I reckon alot of Dev fans would be into it.

dev's been my favorite for about a year or so now. before that it was opeth and dream theater.

now with synchestra out i dont see dev's reign coming to an end anytime soon.

lamb of god is creeping up to the top 5 tho at the moment.
