had you already heard the songs somewhere else or did you just kinda order them all hoping they would be good?

Actually, I had gone into them only having heard all the SYL records. I heard he had a solo career and his other stuff was just mind blowing so I took the plunge.

I don't regret buying a single Devin CD, including Devlab. The man can do no wrong, it seems. And Alien...oooh...

Physicist was my first one, and while it's not my favorite (although they're all so good that it's sometimes hard to say what your favorite is), it is easily one that I was happy to start with.

It was either Physicist or Ocean Machine...I think it was the former.

I listened to all the songs that were on MP3.com (RIP) and not long after ordered both of those from The End. My first listen to "Life" absolutely blew me away. It was like listening to a made for radio song that was just mindfuckingly AWESOME.

I'd have voted for Sex and Religion...as I got it directly after it was released.

Voted for Infinity now.

OM after a 10/10 review in Metal Hammer, never looked back since.

Back in those days Metal Hammer was worth a read, wonder what happened to their old editor, it was a lady can't remember her name.

10/10?! Wow... Really?! I'm not saying OM isn't worthy, but it's pretty unusual for Metal Hammer to give out a full mark rating to any band.

Just side-tracking a moment, I agree with Metal Hammer being crap these days. The same bands are in it over and over again. I stopped buying it when they put the price up to £3.75, cause I'm not all that rich :D

exactly the same with the German Metal Hammer...that one is not really THAT great anymore. Any they give shitty CD ratings.
And on topic...I can´t remember which one I heard first but I think it was a track of Physicist and tehn I checked them all out. But I don´t remember which one I bought first. Too much alc has crossed my way since that day I guess.

Hahaha. My first Devin experience was City, borrowed to me from a coworker, which leveled me completely. His words: "Dude, check this out. It's just.... holy shit, just check it out." He wasn't kidding. Then I heard some OM samples from some online site back in '99. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I ordered the CD straight away, and have since been playing it for every person I know, as it's the greatest album ever made. I've also purchased the rest of the albums in order since then, as I've been a huge Devy fan since 1998.
