The place to speak about Dev's current projects, and everything yet to come

When an article is submitted, there's no "official" or locked version. It can keep changing during the whole process, and you're right that people can mess with it in that time. But it really won't be a problem. It's a very low-traffic article, so there's not a lot of vandalism. If we ever do get to a point where we nominate it to be featured, you can bet I (and others) will be watching it very closely (almost obsessively, for me at least!).

Other than that, it sounds like you get the gist of it!

Yes quite steely.

I understand that he was never jobless at any point in his life. So he worked a lot of shit jobs, but never lost perspective...that is impressive. lol but, lots of hard working, self made, passionate people still exist in this world (high functioning successful steely balled dropouts)...more than we think or see.

I trotted on over to see what the article looked like and was like Oh wow! the article looks/sounds good.... :D then I Looked at the history lol.

Ok I have contributed to this a while back in the past (I was actually the first one to put info up about Ki -at the time had the tentative title of Ki-Ra-, which has of course, been improved since by other members :D ) but one thing that I have always failed to do is UPLOAD A NEW IMAGE OF DEV.
I do believe that Dev has showed us, right here on the forums, an image of his new, bald self. Problem is, you have to upload FREE IMAGES to Wikipedia. I have a lot of problems when I try to upload a new image of Dev because apparently "the current one is better" - which is bs. The only better thing about it is its copyright section - which is perfect. The thing is 4 friggin years old.

If anyone could update it, that would be shweeeet!

P.S. My Wikipedia account: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Webmaster_G
Don't worry - more people will be added to the Credits section :D I just haven't bothered to update that part of my profile

Yeah, the copyright thing sucks for pictures. The pictures that have been released are all by professional photographers so they can't be used. Unfortunately Dev's a hermit right now, so until he starts touring again we're probably not going to get an up-to-date picture.

If (but most likely when) he tours, we could try and get some people to contribute to uploading their own images, taken from their own cameras to the forum. That way we can put the best one (or more, whatever) up on Wiki as "my own work that I am allowing to be freely distributed"

If this can be sanctioned by the Dev, himself, couldn't he provide a photo that would fit the bill - without having to wait for touring, etc? That would certainly get around the whole copyright thing...wouldn't it?

If he took it himself, and was willing to spend time uploading it, etc. He could just post on here with like "I license this picture under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License" and we can take care of the rest.

But the poor guy's got enough on his plate without having to deal with this tortuous crap.

On the Ki page, in the track listing, it says "Heavens End" not "Heaven Send"

I think that's still under debate! Cos when Dev posted the lyrics he called the song "Heaven's End"... Which obviously doesn't match the CD case but we shall have to wait for clarification from The Dev!

I was beginning to wonder about the deal with photos on wiki... is there a limit to how many images can be on a page? It seems there can be a couple, but when I look at stuff on wiki, I always find myself wishing they had more/or better pictures up of the person or band, whatever.

It'd be cool too if there could be an archive or a link to cool photos taken by fans or something, but I guess that's not happening. It gets tiring searching forever on flickr for cool photos that people have taken. Don't judge, I actually like trolling around for cool pics of cool people!

Anyways,I was just looking at his wiki page the other day to find something out, and it looked much more lacking than it does now. Either I missed a couple paragraphs or some of you have been doing some hard work :) So much goings on, it's good to get the word out there and entice people - I guess which is to say, I think this is a cool idea.
