I live in Montreal, and bought a ticket for the Strapping Young Lad show on August 3rd. Today I founf out that the show was cancelled (Because of having to be in New Jersey for Ozzfest I think), and needless to say I'm very very disappointed. Basically I'm just asking if you know any details on perhaps a future show in Montreal to replace the one on August 3rd, or maybe talks of one... Anything

It's all pretty recent, so if you don't know anything, I appreciate you taking the time to read my thread anyways. Take care.

i called up admission, and they confirmed that it was cancelled, and i could get reimbursed(sp?) at the venue
and Devy is going on a break... its kinda depressing
i would have truly had loved to see the show

I have no part on the bookings or workings of tours, especially for SYL. It's all done through agents and management.

Looking at the schedule I would say it is because of travel time. If they play a headlining show in Montreal they likely won't be pulling out until 2-3 in the morning. As Ozzfest is on a rotating schedule and they don't know when they play until told, they probably got the 9am slot in New Jersey. There is no way that you can leave at 2am and get to New Jersey, also dealing with the border, in time to play. That is what happened in Albuquerque (sp?) after an off-date so the Ozz dates have to take priority.

I can fully understand, But I too am very disapointed, I have never seen SYL and it would have been the first time (I bought my tickets about 1 month ago)... And if Devy goes on a break (which he fully deserves), I won't see them for a very long time...

But I understand why they couldn't do it.
