How did Steve Vai discover Devin?

Dev said so in an internet radio interview, the link's posted here somewhere....the same one with the 'farting on the buffet' story

Simple answer is Devin sent a demo tape (Noisescapes from Ass-Sordid Demos II) to Relativity Records. The guy from the label was impressed and showed it to Steve who was looking for a singer. Steve asked if Devin would be willing to join the band.

Relativity did sign Devin and the album was half recorded before they asked him to do a grunge record instead. He declined and the album was never finished. Those recordings do show up on both Ass-Sordid Demos CDs.
