Hahaha, who gives a crap, and why are you asking Tracy?
I've heard Dev say lots of times that lower is better. There's the why for you. As to when...sometime between AE and Alien. As to how, well, he got a 7 string and tuned it that way.

He talked aboot the song "friends" from Zeppelin in interviews.
You must be completely right then!
EDIT: Oups! Sorry! I think he was asking aboot getting the extra string and not the tuning...
She thinks I'm Iron Man, that I don't feel pain...
I don't understand why joy must be feigned...

Alien was the first album he did 7 strings if I'm not mistaken. The "Great Average Guitar Video" best sums up the open C tuning concept.

GAHHHHH I really want to see that.
I am pretty sure Tracy is right with the Zepplin. As far as the lower string its probably cause Devin loves to be a bass player.

He also mentions the Led Zep thing in the guitar vid, definitely 'friends'
What are you guys talking about? Have I gone completely mad, or I am I right to think that "Great Average Guitar" was never released? How could you guys have seen it? It's certainly not in the merch section on the website...
James.
