Easily, Vampira is the best vid Dev's made in my opinion. What I wanted to know was a. Does Dev have a name for that amazing dance and b. Has he wowed the masses by performing the dance live?

In the old days, the Grey Skies time, he had several faboulous dances like that. They were lost to the public in the "seriousness" of SYL. I get to see them regularly in the privacy of home where the aphrodisiac qualities of such a dance is obvious.

Well obviously there's a huge demand for more of these dance moves, hopefully we'll catch some live, even for SYL.

Cheers

There's that SYL bootleg from 97 where he's doing that kind of stuff during In The Rainy Season.

That would be funny in the future dtb shows to see the crowd doing that dance during Vampira

Hell, I hope it catches on at all metal shows; the current trend of spastic kung-fu breakdancing that replaced good old slamdancing and circle pits needs to die.
I can just see it: a crowd doing "The Dev" would look like a fun, joyful crowd indeed. The current-day mosh pit looks like a ghetto autism convention held in a popcorn machine.

I hate mosh pits, circle pits and anything even remotely close to either.

yeah "The Dev" thats a great name for it, simple and effective. My drummer and I have been practicing during jams, he's playing guitar at our next gig so we're trying to get it down, its not easy to do 'the dev' and play at the same time.

Should the guitar maybe be strapped up a little higher than usual?

Hee hee hee.
Way back, when I was 15, I loved when Devin did 'the stomp'.
Yeah... Tracy's right.... 'the stomp' went away with Grey Skies...
But the 'Vampira shuffle' is kinda like a new improved, (re'vamped' if you will) 2-sided stomp.
Double the trouble!
It's infectious.... and I dare anyone not to crack a smile at the sight of it's pure gloriousness! :D

....even better than 'the stomp'... may it rip.
