Material!
This song is like having the longest orgasm of your life. And it is responsible for making me a Devin Fan.

storm kicks butt!

I always wandered the exact meaning of it, since i've kinda got my own (that's one of the cool things about devin's lyrics, as everyone knows). But in case you could share your interpretation of it, it'd be cool :)

Yeah, that'd be pretty cool, but only if you'd like to share!

Lyrically they're both a little cryptic that you would need to know the inside information to really understand. And I'm not going to say what that is, sorry :)

Isn't "Ascent To The Summit Of Black Mountain" and "Thick stock" among your favorites too ? (i think you said that in another topic but i may be wrong)

Yes, but if I had to pick 2...

At that time I listed
[Not in order]
Hide Nowhere (acoustic)
Truth
Colonial Boy
War
Material
Earth Day
Deep Peace
Random Analysis
Slow Me Down
Depth Charge
I Am
Ocean Machines
Ascent to the Summit of Black Mountain (played for me on our first date in the car crossing the Lions Gate Bridge - Burned into my memory)
Red Tomorrow
Thick Stock (all 2336 versions of it)
Aftermath
Relentless
Centipede
Japan
AAA
Shine
Love?
Skeksis

I'm sure there are others but those are off the top of my head. Picking any from Terria or AE is hard coz I like all of them.

My choices aren't necessarily because they are the best musically but because of some associated memory or because I know they were important to him or whatever.

Now I would add Sunshine and Happiness, Triumph, Pixillate, Notes from Africa, Gaia. And of course all of Punky Bruster.

"Storm" doesn't sound like a happy song to me. The first time I heard I thought, "Oh fuck! Dev and Tracy are going to get divorced!" Then I selfishly thought, "Well, maybe we'll get another Infinity album." :D

Sorry. 8)

Storm doesn't sound particularily happy, but I don't think it sounds unhappy either. It's really hard to find a word/words that would summarise the vibe I feel from that song.

On one hand, I find it to be unsettling throughout, but there's also this sense of a kind of vigilant peace, especially near the end. In fact when I first heard the song, I assumed that it was about experiencing a storm, but when I think about it now, it's almost like we're watching for an inevitable storm that hasn't yet arrived, or maybe it's just visible on the horizon.

Great song, however you describe it.
