Yep, this thought spawned from the Dev Is Too Poor To Tour Australia thread. I think it would be super-duper if Devin did an acoustic tour at some point. I know he's done the one-off shows in the past, but a full blown Dev and a geetar tour would be sweet. He could tour with Ani Difranco!

And, since it would just be him, maybe he could go to Australia! WHO KNOWS! The possibilities are endless!

Shit! I was talking about an acoustic tour! How about a fucking acoustic record!! =)

Interviewer: What kind of expansion and experimentation will we see from Devy in the future?

Devin: I'm gonna do an acoustic record. Something that's bare bones, nothing except for voice and acoustic. Uh, I'm gonna do tons more electronic stuff. I see that becoming a bigger thing for me. More Strapping, more DT, more side things. I dunno ... wherever it goes.

AWESOME!!!

What about a double disc featuring new songs as well as re-arranged acoustic versions of already released Dev songs?

I started a thread about Dev's acoustic side some time ago... And now it was fucking great to read that the acoustic album really might be done!

YES

Yeah Dev and symphony would be awsome, I'd love to hear some orcestrations done on Devs work.

I've asked him to do that and was hoping he could do it before Christmas but it's not a priority. Obviously the DT record is most important.

My god, can you imagine how fucked up that would be? But it might be pretty cool, so who knows?

Dev playing an accoustic version of OMFG...wow.

Abso-freakin´-lutely, if done right it would take Devs music another step up. It would be very interesting to hear another take on, say, Ocean machine or Terria. And I mean a _different_ take, not just adding strings like Metallica.

Back in the day on the e-mail list when we discussed a fan-tribute album, I was planning on doing an acoustic version of "War." =)

That's cool. I'd like to hear an accoustic version of War myself.

I think it would be pretty awful. Let's be logical, how can a song like OMFG or Underneath the waves sound nice on acoustic guitar ... Do you wanna waste a barbecue party ???

You never know though, Devin does some amazing things. He could make it sound half decent at least.

Yes or it would be a complete different song with a different tempo, different lyrics, different vocals and in the end it would sound like Mr Big 'to be with you'
