US dollars, that's what the HDR merch site says. PayPal can send in US dollars, if you don't use PayPal, just go to your bank and buy some dollars there.

The online shop they're using (CCNow) is probably located in the USA? Just a wild guess?
And US dollars are the standard for international shopping, and higher valued than the Canadian dollar.

Yes, yes and not so much anymore. CCNow is US based. We use US dollars because it's hard for someone in... [picks country name out of the air] Estonia to walk into a bank and get a money order in CND. The US dollar used to be HUGE compared to ours. Now USD/CND are almost equal (trading at 1.13 today)

So, just for clarity, if we want the Special Edition of Synchestra with the version of the DVD for the North American region and we send in a preorder through snail mail or paypal, we can expect that they won't ship until after the 10th?

All of the DVDs are the same. Just orders before the 10th get the Euro release.

Okay, just two more questions then:

1. Are there any distinguishing features between the Euro and non-Euro versions of the special edition, i.e. artwork or layout variations, packaging differences, etc.?

2. If there are differences between the two (and if not, then disregard this question) and I send in a preorder, can I request the non-Euro version (I don't mind if it's not sent until you get them)?

According to the most recent HDR newsletter (posted in the DTB section too)

The Euro release is a digipak, the other is a double jewel case. both dvd editions have the extended booklet.

Good questions. This is the explanation I put in the news:

"Inside Out’s European version comes in digipack format, the HevyDevy version comes in a double jewel case, both with expanded artwork done by HDR webmaster, the amazing Geoff Rousselot. Also, all DVD versions are NTSC format which Inside Out says is no longer an issue for Europe, that European DVD players can now do both."

So, the content is the same, the booklet is the same, the only difference is the overall packaging which is digipack vs. jewel case. People have preferences. I personally don't like digipacks, they are too fragile, that is why I chose to make jewel cases instead. If the case breaks you can replace it, not so with a digi.

If can choose whichever format you prefer.

They would be imports so they would likely be the digipack.

ive been a bit turned off digipaks lately. i have no SYL or DTB digipaks so i like the idea of sticking to jewel :)

Tracey, I've just put a pre-order for Synchestra in from the UK using the link from your HevyDevy shop. It went initially through CCNow, then pushed the payment through PayPal. It all seems confirmed etc from the emails that have come through.

I realise things are a bit odd for this release and mine is for a birthday gift so I'm just checking if I've got it right in the end. I'm curious because I've just read Ninja Butterflys locked step-by-step guide after doing it and at no point did I get to type your email address into anything - the system filled it all in by itself ??

Feel free to help, laugh or be frustrated at my confusion as you see fit !

Carpathian

(I did stick this in the "Ask Tracey" before seeing this thread but I can't now delete that post - sorry, therefore, for the cross posting ! I guessed it would be better to put in in here in case other people overseas were wondering the same thing.)
