Was your wall OK?

He was a bit of a Simon LeBon wannabe, but Nik Kershaw had some decent stuff. Especially his 2 late 90's releases, 15 Minutes and To Be Frank.

There's always my favorite travelling accordianist Jason Webley. He's pretty bold musically, touching upon numerous folk styles, and has the vocal range to match. Lyrically, he can get pretty complex but has never lost the ability to rant about vegetables in free verse. If you seek out material... Against the Night gives the best idea of what he does. It's got lush gorgeous folk music, insidiously catchy rants about rutebegas, an d bits where Mr. Webley out rocks any guitarist on his accordian.

You need to listen to The Coral and Therapy?, and a little Ani Difranco. That should do ya good!!

I really loved Ani Difranco until she went all jazzy and annoying.

All of these suggestions will be looked into.

Jazzy and annoying?? =) I think she dabbled in a lot of different styles. Educated Guess was more stripped down acoustic like her old stuff. See, I'm more of a fan of her full band albums. If you like the old stuff you may like her Official Bootleg series. She's put out six so far, all are just $10 a piece and they kick ass.

And you said there's nothing left to put on Ass-Sordid III! LIAR!!! =)

See other topic where I said all of Devin's master tapes were ruined in the flood. A few DAT tapes of unknown content survived somewhere but all of the important 2 inch and ADATs were destroyed.

I was joking! =) Don't underestimate the power of an old school smiley!!

Do you sing or play any instruments Tracy? You wouldn't think of covering Mull Of Kintyre with Devin, as a little homage to Paul and Linda McCartney?

I play absolutely nothing. I tried when I was very young but one should know and face when they are inept and pursuit is just pointless. My brain just doesn't work in the musical way.

Do you or Devin like the work of Frank Zappa at all?

The previous tenants painted 2.25 rooms. In all cases, they used excessively dark colours. Since we want to open the spaces up with light colours, our primer costs are rising rapidly. I mean really... if you've got a bedroom that barely holds a queen size painting the walls a ludicrously deep red and the ceiling pitch black is just retarded.

Yes.

"I am" was from the infamous Noisescapes demo, "Ascent" was from the very first Grey Skies demo and "Thick Stock" was recorded several times but that version was the last and features TM Stevens on bass.

Hello Tracy.
Have you heard of Pain of Salvation? I guess you have, so what do you think? They're my absolute number one band. Frontman Daniel Gildenlöw is my real hero, and he's the one I respect the most. I just love PoS's music, so if you haven't heard of them, you really should check them out. You wanted something with melodies (they've got them), original (they are!) and with a good singer (oh, Daniel really is the best). :)
