John wrote:Infinity is done, and - if you think about it from our perspective - is supposed to sound the way it does. To everyone except Devin. Seriously, I don't want anyone poking around in the song order, the mixing, the artwork or anything, not even Devin, because to me (and to most who love the album, I'd say) the album is perfect. Please leave it the way it is, but by all means, go ahead and create another "Devin Townsend" solo album, Infinity style! Now THAT would rule, don't you think?
This is extremely well put, definitely. I hold the original version very close to my heart, and it is part of me and my skin. In reality it is the first time I ever really 'loved' music. The first time music was anything other than entertainment. I don't want that experience to change, but at the same time I have complete faith in Devin to release something worthwhile. If anyone can do this, it is him. If anything he has the right and we have no way to stop him!

This is funny, because I completely 100% disagree. I think Infinity is the most conceptual album of them all. I think it is totally cohesive and beyond anything he has released before or since. It is possible that you just haven't 'got' it yet. I don't mean that in an elitist sort of way (your view is just as valid as mine) but simply that I used to feel this way too - about all of Devin's albums. It took a long time and a lot of listening to reach my own understanding of what it all meant, for it all to 'become cohesive' (apparently 'cohese' isn't a word!).
I think that we owe it to Devin to let him do this. We can see here clearly that this album is something special, and if Devin wants to do it justice then we should be more than willing to listen.
