Did anyone else catch this? There's an exact quote from the theme from Star Trek II & III (they have pretty much the same theme music) right after the first chorus of "Material" (1:19 - 1:32) .Listen to this clip from the main theme from Star Trek III at 00:16 - 00:29 to hear what I'm talking about (you'll need Windows Media Player):

Is Devy a big Star Trek fan,or is this just a coincidence (or am I hearing things)?

Hmm. Dev must be a Trek fan. I think I've mentioned this elsewhere, but the bit on Devlab about being "mentally divergent" is actually some dialoge from an episode of The Next Generation. Before you ask, yes, I have seen every episode.

Wow, I feel like a nerd.

Ummm isnt the mentally divergent bit in Devlab from 12 Monkeys when Brad Pitt goes into the mental ward and the african american guy claims to be from another planet called Ogo or something and says "are you mentally divergent too, friend?" or something like that.

I don't think it's a bad thing to be mentally divergent. I think (think! Yes I can think. And sometimes, I'm thinking the wrong thing. Like my plans with you later tonight, they're just wrong :D ) it means very diverse thinking patterns. That way you can come up with loads of ideas.
Once you have a load of ideas, you have to be mentally convergent to select the ideas that are actually sensible.
This process is essential for creativity. So I've read.

Or, I Could Just Fuck Off
