I love it. The pitch lowered "Tea-offering" at the beginning always gets me especially the "Stir your drink-kuh".
I am currently piecing together a movie and plan to use Olives (The entire song from the point of the first guitar strum) It will compliment the opening of the movie quite well. I'll post it when it's finished

He says "Martini". It's not an offering of tea, but a Martini.

What else is being said there? It sounds like a whole conversation ensues.

Because the "I think we might just as well stir it up." sounds as though it was being said from across the room or something, I always picture that the speaker is right in my face, offering me a martini, and then teleports to the table to 'stir it up'.
Funky.

I hear "I think we might just as well start now". Which makes sense since that point is when the album really takes off. Either way it's a cool intro to the album :)

I hear that too.
Its like in the 'scene', one person is welcoming a business associate into his house, and both being gentleman, one offers the other a martini....but they have work to attend to! Perhaps plotting or drug dealing. Who knows!

You picture a businessman? With that voice, I picture some deformed hunchback human/animal hybrid servant thing, perhaps engineered by Mephisto.

Another interesting thing is another line I hear out:
"...see our relationship..."
As you might know Devins' first choice and working title for his
next upcoming album after Terria was "Relationships" but later
on was changed into "Accelerated Evolution".
Quite amazing, considered there's a 2 1/2 year gap between the
release of the two albums...putting in a teaser for your next release
on your actual album is quite a cool thing I think, especially when
no one KNOWS it's a teaser...Well, I'm not saying he already had
a 100% vision of "Relationships"/"Accelerated Evolution" in mind
when he mixed down Terria, but it shows that he already had a
quite clear concept for the follow up.

Wow, charming...VERY constructive comment on a thought...
Next time you quote me leave that "fuck you, idiot, you're wrong!"
undertone out and we should get along fine...
Anyway...AM I putting to much in this line? Maybe, maybe not...
I never said: "It DEFINITLEY IS this way" Maybe he developed
the idea for "Relationships" totally independent from this line.
In the end the only one who definitely knows and could answer
that question is Devin...But as far as I know him I'm sure that
he already had something special in mind, adding this ambient
stuff to the mix. And IF I should be wrong...who cares?
It's all just thoughts, lad!

Wow!
I NEVER said that.
I apologize if you took it that way, but it's not what i mean. I still believe you're stretching it a bit, it's not because he used the word "relationship" in a sample that he knew about... Oh, whatever!...

I see...
So no offense meant...none taken...
Postings are difficult to interpret anyway...
Some just read more between the lines than there is and vice versa...
Anyway, I'm now really curious if this sample REALLY was pointing
to his next project which was named AE and not, as originally planned,
"Relationships"...A teaser, like I suggested before.
I listened to it again and from what I can make out the words are:
"See how relationship, in the future, will change the world of/for(?)
you and me..."
Hmmm....
