Pretty sure this poll hasn't been done before. It seems that it is the last album to have a favourite song poll. Vote away punks.
Deep Peace, obviously because of that incredible breakdown in the middle.
Canada - followed very closely by Deep Peace. Whenever I listen to Canada - I have to listen to Deep Peace first, for me they have to be listened to together. I have spent a lot of my life living in and visiting Canada (from Australia) and for me this song sums up the feeling I get when I'm over there perfectly and what Canada means to me. It's just so beef!
Oh - and Stagnant is definately up there with the all time greats. Such a feel good song for when I'm feeling down - or should I say - tired of the way that I'm feeling every day....
It's so tough to pick just one - but i went for Tiny Tears, beating Deep Peace on penalties (a la Portugaul V England in Euro2004). I love the backing vocals - they compliment Devvy perfectly. Plus from such an inauspicious start, with the single guitar notes, to such a grandiose ending - it truly is a journey. I can't wait until i'm 29, so i can scream the line preceeding "I'm a million miles away.." louder than my voice will allow.
I hope i didn't brain my damage...
I refuse to vote. On one side I'm torn between "Nobody Here" and "Stagnant", and on the other side it's "Earth Day" vs. "Mountain".

Without a doubt it's Nobody's Here. The song is just packed with so much emotion and beautiful melodies. It's my favorite song period, actually.
olives is a freaking awesome song! Too bad its short... mountain is really good too. I'm so happy i have this cd, it hasn't left my cd rotation since i got it.
Tiny Tears!!!! And before it takes off, I'll say now that Earth Day is absolutely NOT the fuckin best song on the album!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pop infiltration of the HDR camp is evil!!!!! lol....... Oh well, so long as all you Detox/Earth Day/Christeen lovin' fuckers all buy his CDs it's all good I just get dissapointed that the catchy tunes get more recognition than the true masterpieces.... I guess that's why Devy is the man, he puts so much damn effort into everything that even the catchy things are joyous.

I also love the part in Tiny Tears towards the end, where there is a piano playing a gentle, descending part. It only goes for a few seconds, and only happens once throghout the song, but that is one of the clinchers for me.
I hope i didn't brain my damage...
Catatonik wrote:Nobody's Here.Damn straight. Conjures up all kinds of reflective feelings and ghosts from my past. Tremendous vocal.
Amazing song, one of my favourite songs of all time.
The Fluke, i just love this song and the bit right in the middle.... genius!
