For the people who are interested in how this came together, especially the guitar sound. It's quite simple actually.

A, LTD MH-1000 with EMG 81 to a Maxon Od808 -> PODXT -> G-major -> SPDIF out to Computer.

That's it.

Man, that very first synth, before the guitar starts, is DEAD on. You must have used the very same one. The whole thing sounds fantastic!

Yeah, i just thought why go to all the trouble. When you can copy it from the original. That is bye the way the only thing, the rest is all played by me.

Oh crap, six hours. Mine took, like, bazillion hours and is still shit.

May I ask what model off POD XT it is? Also, is there lack of gain in POD for boosting it up with Maxon stompbox? I thought there should be some badass higain models in POD alone.

Hmm, I would never use high-gain on a Pod XT. I know Dave has got the Pro version, which is ofcourse a little bit better, but still, the Maxon OD808 together with a little less gain, will always sound better and more natural than a high-gain setting in any multi-fx processor.

I don't like your version of the bass bombs, but otherwise it's great!

Well the reason i use a maxon tubescreamer in the frontend is because the maxon has a far better drive than the pod has, the pod XT pro sounds much better to me with less gain, so i use a setting like 3 or so on the pod (drive) and also a 3 for the maxon. The gain on the maxon also makes the guitar sound a little more tubelike.

This is bye the way a popular way to get your sound, Devin does this, Killswitch Engage uses the same method (only with real tubeamps)

O and if you buy a tubescreamer, buy the maxon OD808, it's far beter than the ibanez remakes.

And the pod xt settings are, well just scroll to my Regulator cover post.
It's the same setting only with far less gain (it's pre maxon:) and a 4x10 cabinet instead of the 4x12greenback

And yes the Sonic booms are pretty hard to do, working on that one!

On Infinity, they were sampled from the Wildhearts album 'Endless, Nameless.' The huge sonic boom that ends that album can be heard at the end of 'War' (exact same sample-- the huge, static-filled glitchy sounding one). You could always sample part of that and use it... I can send it your way if you like.
