...And during the few moments that we have left, we want to have just an off-the-cuff chat between you and me -- us. We want to talk right down to earth in a language that everybody here can easily understand. -Malcolm X

Good stuff, this. Thanks, Josiah.

I didnt get to go on my pooter last night, and on the way home I remembered that yesterday was of course 4/4/2007 which meant...Blasted Lands EP!

And then I got all excited. I have downloaded it and will review it in a little while. Woo!

Of course, I had to miss 4:47 PM and I fucked up again by not posting it at 7:44... Which I'm actually somewhat annoyed by.

Hope you all enjoy it though!

Still, it looks like you just smashed your face into the keyboard :P

Yeah...about time you translated those words Josiah!

As for the EP:

Really cool! I really loved the use of acoustic guitar-age, worked really well on the first track. As with everything I have heard of yours it is mixed with shitloads of detail and a wonderful guitar tone.

A really interesting teaser for the full album.

More thoughts as I digest it further. So far though, 3 thumbs up!

Haha, quite the opposite actually. There's a somewhat detailed formula to the 'language.'

Monga: Glad you like it! These mixes are actually rather rough compared to the final album stuff, or at least compared to how I'd like them to sound. I suppose there's a limit to how much nearly inaudible stuff I could cram in there, though. The guitars are also much more centered in this EP than they should be... Ah well, I have much more time to work on the final stuff now that 4/4/7 has come and gone. :P

You'll have to elaborate because I'm very curious now :P

Hmm, perhaps. I told myself I wouldn't reveal how the language works, though. Compare the text in the first post (above the image) to the English below the image. That might give you some hints, though I'm not sure.

I can't figure it out for the life of me. Maybe I'm just too dimwitted...

So when can we expect the full album?

No, no, it's just extremely difficult to figure out... I think it may be closer to impossible, actually. You might be able to guess parts of how it works, but translating it would be very very difficult.

Leechmaster wrote:So when can we expect the full album?

I haven't a fucking clue. I had a deadline for this EP since the numbers 4 and 7 (specifically 4) are so important both to me and the album-- I wanted to get the album out on 4/4/7, but I realized I wouldn't have nearly enough time to do it properly. So I put together this EP for the purpose. It's much heavier than the album will be, more guitar-based as well.

I really have no idea when I'll be anywhere close to finished with the full album, though I can say it'll probably take a rather long time. Maybe not though, who knows? :P
