This is something new I started a few days ago. I'm only using guitar in the track that's featured, but there are many layers. Very much Devin inspired, hope you enjoy! :D

I should have a new track up you all to listen to within the next day or so. This one was much harder to record than the previous one.

 Anyone else? Josiah has a pimping thread just above me.

Then let me add some pimp to this thread. 8)
Listening to Electric Sea right now. Very calming for the most part, though those louder, heavier chugs that come in about 1/3 of the way through could do to be a bit farther in the background, perhaps.

A Way Home is very nice also, it definately feels mellow and... home-ish? :P

Very interesting stuff overall, I like it. You might want to experiment with some rhthmic precussive samples in the background, but then again, that's probably bias of overuse on my part. Good stuff.

Hey dude,

Listening just now...

Electric Sea: Really digging this. I sense a nod to O.M. in both the sound and the title, which is of course a great thing. Love your guitar sound here. Reminded me a bit of the start of Funeral, only spacier.

A Way Home: I really, really liked the guitar tone and melody at the start of this track, very nice. Overall I found it quite similar to the other track though...in a good way!

One thing I would say though is that this is not what I expected when you said 'ambient' as I found it quite intense really. Maybe that is the way it is mixed, and also the mypsace player is not the best source of high quality audio. It seemed more 'in your face' than I expected anyway. I agree with Josiah perhaps when he mentions that some parts could be 'further away' in the mix.

Good stuff though dude, keep it up! I really like listening to stuff like this so I look forward to hearing more!

Hey thanks a lot for these comments hey! I must admit my initial idea was not to make the sound this intense, but I saw it going in that direction so I thought what the hell. In terms of the mixing, the more I listen to it myself the more I know what you mean about the levels being a bit too in your face at times. I've just started a clean tone one which I think I'll call "Deep Waters" or something along those lines. Thanks a lot! :D Any more comments would be awesome!

Dude, I like both these tracks. Definately notice an Om influence, or a sit in the mountain or sumthin?? I like it much so.

Yeah Sit in the Mountain was a huge inspiration without me even noticing! Ocean Machine is obviously an inspiration as well. The tracks like 3AM and Sister are ones that inspired me the most. The amazing thing about the tone on this recording. It is: Guitar -> Distortion Pedal -> Computer, with NO guitar tone alterations on the computer either, merely a single reverb effect. I was stunned myself haha! :D

Just so everyone knows, I'm now going to make this the thread for all my updates for this project, if that's cool? Got a new track thats going to be released TOMMOROW, so check it out. It's like a song with two parts in it. Part one represents ascending to the ocean surface and the second part represents falling into the depths again.

Hey, I'm back to work on this album now, I've got a new track up and coming very soon. It's got a darker vibe it than the others, so I'm really enjoying writing and recording it. It took me a while to get into the right mindset to start doing more on this project, that and having bloody TEE exams to do over the last month and a bit. :(
