Hey guys

It's been a while; I've been very busy with all of the projects and am now doing a Bachelor of Music at uni, majoring in production. yay! I'm in my second week and have already met a stack of amazing musos to do stuff with so stay tuned for that business.

The real reason for this update is to let you guys know that next week I will do a rather major overaul of the soundclick site so if there is anything you wanted to download off it then you should do that soon. I'm going to replace most of the material on there with fresh stuff as my production has gotten far better and I've written tons of new stuff that I'm excited about. I just have to choose what to put up!

Either way I hope everything in life is as exciting for you guys as it is for me these days. The more music I listen to (and I have been expanding my horizons further still) the more inspired I become and the more new things I want to try. I can't wait to get this new music to you all!

Best

Greg

Hi all

Thanks for your patience. I'm a true slacker and have been well busy with uni and creating new material, so the combination of this means that it has taken me this bloody long to update my Soundclick account... but update it I have. It is a many varied beast, as per usual, and this time I have selected particularly trying tracks that highlight the extremities of my musical output. Those of you who appreciated the complexity of my music need not fear, there is much of that in the works that will be revealed at a later date. For this moment I want to focus on texture and intricacy. Here are the details:

Image

I vs I - Infinity (demo)

This is the demo version of track two from the forthcoming I vs I EP. I estimate that the EP will be completed by July and available by August. The track is a blend of Asian music, IDM, jazz, death metal and ambience. A lot of Charles Mingus in this one, not that you can really hear it.

Image

777 - Sstm Flyr

A track from an album that is a long way off yet, Inorganic Beings. I have no idea when that platter will be delivered so I figure I may as well let this one out for the time being and allow those of you with much imagination and much patience to experience the depths of electronic hypnotism.

Image

777 - Stir

Track six from the forthcoming album Music for Dreaming. I estimate this album to be finished by June also and probably unleashed September or October... This one is going to be released by Miette Records, which is run by a friend of mine and will be relying on his financial abilities for it's pressing and distribution, so here's hoping... This track is a long, slow moving ambient piece that works to a nice, dense peak. Not for those with short attention spans.

Image

777 - To Touch

Track eleven from Music for Dreaming. A shorter piece, ambient also but with a much brighter colour than "Stir". I'm interested to see how people take this one.

Image

777 - Amongst the Stars

The first track off the very-nearly-complete Beneath the Skyline Steel. This one will be shopped around to various independant experimental labels and possibly self-released if I'm not satisfied with what I am offered. Either way the album will be finished within a week and explores space and depth in many different ways, which I am expressing within the context of a guitar-only record.

Image

Greg Reason - Complicated

This one has been up for quite some time already but I figure that it is worth the reprisal. It's probably the catchiest track form the album My Neuroses and only God knows when that album will be released... This is an updated mix and sounds very close to what the finished product will be. I think I'll just redo the vocals and do some slight tinkering in the mic and this one is set.

Greg Reason - Pastel Shades

This is a unique one. A very rough around the edges recording, this was done in an hour at five in the morning as a gift for Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons and given to him later that day. I wrote and recorded it especially for him and probably won't keep it online for very long, I just thought that some of you might be interested in it. It's more of a bleeding heart track and deliberately wounded sounding; one of the more sparse recordings I have made. Enjoy.

Greg Reason - Chemical Plant Zone

I'm sure that many of you played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in your younger days... Well, this track could possibly bring bad memories to the surface, memories that will most likey involve falling into vast depths of pink chemicals and being unable to make it back up for air in time... dammit!

ps the cover of 'Suicide' is now available at http://www.hevydevy.com

Thank you!

Hiya

I've posted the cover of "Vampira" that Torniojaws and myself did onto my Soundclick page with the rest of the stuff. Torniojaws just decided to do the cover and he recorded the entire backing then I did the singing and the two guitar solos. I decided to be as cheesy as possible because the osng seemed to beg for it so here ya go...

I'm glad you dig "To Touch", I'm very happy with that one but I didn't know how many people would be keen :P

Thanks for checkin!
