Cool songs Josiah.
Put some vocals on and it's almost like the lost tracks from HAARHT, if there were any. ;)

Haha, maybe. They sort of lack the all-over-the-place rage of that album, though. :P This stuff is going to remain instrumental for now (as well as the final album), though I suppose the arrangements on these songs do kind of lack the variety/progression required for a lot of work lacking vocals. Thanks for the words though :)

What I really need right now is a drum kit to sample-- double or quad-tracking loosely played, un-triggered acoustic drums is something I've wanted to do for awhile now, and I think it'd do wonders for the sound of the album and the kind of weight it carries.

Hehe, well I don't know how I came to that conclusion (listened to it a few more times now). Guess it reminded me of some of the slow songs, like The filler or something. :)
And I thought the industrial-like drums suited the songs pretty well actually.

Hmm, I see what you mean actually. That kind of really slow, layered sound with a bunch of random shit going on in the background. It's funny, I was actually really really into SYL's slower songs (Filler, Spirituality, etc) awhile back, before I started doing this stuff.

And the drums, yeah... The programmed tracks I'm using right now certainly fit the music well enough, though the style I'm trying to create is just slightly more organic. I'm actually playing a distorted Jolt can along with the snare in Ascent, so maybe I'll cobble together some kind of bizarre makeshift drum kit specifically for the purpose of recording this album. :P

Jolt snare?! How cool is that! :D

I'd also love to hear some more acoustic guitars, the intro sounded great.

Hehe yeah, there's a ton of weird found percussion in there. Even beatboxing put through a shitload of filters and plugins, I think.

As for acoustic guitars, there's going to be much more of them on the final album, yep. This EP is much, much heavier than the majority of the songs I have written or planned. An orchestra would be really handy too though...

Thanks! :) Funny that you should mention Godflesh, too... I actually just started listening to them shortly before this EP was finished. Probably snuck some influence in there.
