Heart Baby and Kawaii are in a special tuning, are they not?

I've been playing Heart Baby in Dev's regular open tuning (though I'm not sure whether it's open B or C, never bothered to check), but I don't know whether that's the official way to do it. From what I've read/heard/gathered Kawaii is in open D (DADF#AD).
