Guru was a true Hip-Hop legend and will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace brother.

Totally cut up about this. One of my musical idols. Worse then Peter Steeles passing for me anyway.

Not sure there is a comparative between people dying. People dying is sad. But yeah, RIP Guru. Only a year older than me...
I had the great privilege of meeting Guru and Premier once and he was an absolute gentleman and as inspiring in person as on record.
Back in the day when Hip-Hop was all crotches and guns, Gang Starr were among the very few who actually stood up for a different path. Not being age-sit but you young cats cannot imagine how revolutionary that was at that time.

I could go on all night pulling favourite Gang Starr tunes.

Damn - didn't know he had cancer. This is very sad news. RIP Guru - you were one of the best.

We have to play Lovesick don't we? At least the slower downbeat version - seems more appropriate.

I'm rather saddened by this. Another passing of a good and fine standing musician.
