Gutted

My favourite vocalist after Devin. An amazing bassist too.

I just came to look if someone else had already said it.

Bloody shame. No hoax this time either :(

Still not seen an official statement or confirmation yet, but from what's going round it doesn't seem like another fake rumour.

If it's true, terrible news and a terrible loss.

By this time tomorrow we'll apparently have the press release. Stay tuned to Blabbermouth as they seem to have a lot on about it.

I love Pete Steele. Honestly one of my favourite singers. Funniest man in the face of bleakest depression. He could never be replaced.

Very sad news. Unfortunately I never got into Type O Negative...

The forums have been re-opened. Please play nice and expect statements from the band and family later today.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

Looks like we'll hear whether it's definately true from an official source today.
Blabbermouth can hardly be trusted IMHO.

I am so incredibly sad over this. TON is one of my all time favorite bands and Peter is definitely one of my favorite frontmen and bass players. There music just brings back so many memories of high school and good times with my friends. Ugh..so sad.

Here's an article from CBS news http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/04/ ... 9206.shtml

This is tough, unexpected news to hear. He always was a memorable frontman, and I've been a fan of his signature voice and tunes ever since I first heard them...back when my age was in the single digits, and I would hear "Blood and Fire" or "Cinnamon Girl" blasting from my brother's room.

I'm shocked. My thoughts are with his nearest and dearest.

If true it's bad buzz.

I've been rocking Type O all morning.

One of the most important bands of my teen years. Seriously, I don't know what kind of a man I'd be without Type O Negative, and I don't know if I'd like that humorless dick.

Bye Peter. I hope heart failure was ironic enough, and I mean that with all due respect. Your music will live forever for me.

Didn't they pull a similar thing back in 2005 or 2006? When the website had a tombstone with his name on it up and it turned out to just be a joke...

If it's true it's terribly sad. 48's too young for anyone to go out.

Don't think anyone who heard that voice will or could ever forget it anyway...
