I hear Orchid... Not what I expected. Although that might just be the poor recording quality that reminds me :P

We'll wait or the album and then judge. June was it?

I'm curious how the end result will turn out. I recently reread some interview with Mikael in a Swedish magazine. Kind of funny stuff here and there. The guy is "quite" into music. One story he told was about a girl who broke up with him because he was playing some drumbeat during sex, haha. He said that he suddenly got some idea in his head and got too absorbed in it so he kind of forgot what he was doing initially

Well he did say he wanted an older Opeth sound on it. I love it honestly. Cannot wait for the whole album.

Does remind me of Orchid a bit...very spooky indeed! Love what I hear on this.

Cool, thanks! You prove to be my favourite Mango once again! :D

This song is pretty awesome. I am a little surprised, but that ending is really really good.

It's a bit heavier (even a small hint at a Morbid Angel-vibe) and not surprisingly Mikael seems to have his Morbid Angel shirt on ;)
I also saw an interview with him a while ago where he mentioned them. He thought that they were the best death metal band still around from before and got very inspired when he saw them play live.

I also think that they're great and different than most of the new death metal bands out there. They have a different "feel" somehow. Mikael mentioned that they actually made Opeth lose a bit of pretentiousness during their earlier days. When they toured with them it was a bit of a humbling experience to see them get on stage after Opeth he thought.

Damnation is great! It fits alongside the calmer songs from Porcupine Tree really well. For me, Damnation is the ultimate late night solitaire (AKA patience) playing music. All you need is a cold beer, a nice deck of cards and you are there.

Nooo noo! Damnation is third best, after Still Life (best album evar. Shut up Sab) and Blackwater Park. Ghost Reveries is their worst. By lightyears and then some. Just terrible.
