Does anybody wonder about where some of their favorite metal musicians went after they disbanded? I was kinda hoping for a website like this, because sometimes they go on to doing something different besides music. A couple people popped into my mind.

One being Mike Howe, Ex-vocalist of Metal Church. Where did he go? I searched everywhere hoping he was in a new band.

Another was Andrew Shives, Ex-bassist of Fear Factory, his photo appeared on the back of the Soul of a New Machine album, but he never played bass on the album. He later went on to play for a band called Cool for August for some years and is now in a band called Paperstreet.

If anyone has more of these, please post them. Sometimes they turn out kinda suprising, and if anyone find Mike Howe please let me know.

My fave is Jim Martin, ex-Faith No More guitarist, who went on to live on a ranch and grow the 235th largest pumpkin ever recorded: 1064 lbs!!!

I'd like to know what happened to Kim Thayil. Such a great guitar player, but has seemed to have fallen of the face of the Earth since Soundgarden broke up. Someone find him!!

Vito Bratta (born July 1, 1961) was the guitarist and main songwriter for the 80s rock band White Lion from 1983 to 1992. Bratta's style earned him worldwide acclaim, as well as numerous awards, including Guitar World magazine's "Best New Guitarist" in 1988.

Following the breakup of White Lion, Bratta produced an album for the band CPR on Atlantic records. Despite his cult status and guitar-based following, Bratta has not been involved in the music industry in any capacity since 1994. He is said to be currently living in his childhood house in Staten Island where he lives a modest life trying to keep himself out of the spotlight. He has been contacted about radio interviews regarding the future of White lion but has turned them all down. According to an article in Guitar World magazine, Bratta is said to now be "working with computers". As well as this there are suggestions that Bratta owns a pizza restaurant, or works in the real estate field.

"Since then (the breakup of Soundgarden), Thayil has played guitar for Pigeonhed, with the Presidents of the United States of America, played on Dave Grohl's metal side-project PROBOT, and No WTO Combo with Jello Biafra and Krist Novoselic, and has also worked on other projects. Recently Kim contributed guitar to the track "Blood Swamp" from the forthcoming SunnO)))/ Boris album Altar."

Hang on! He played with the Presidents of the United States of America? WTF!?! I can't picture that... Kim Thayil strumming along to "Peaches" or "Dune Buggy"...

Wow. I had forgotten about Jim Martin quite completely... He was one of my favorite guitarists back in the days. Wonder what happened to Chuck Mosley, the ex-"singer" of FNM? Really can't miss his vocal talents though...

Chuck Mosely is a chef, in Ohio I think.

Ah, good ol' White Lion They were a strange band for me in that I really couldn't stand Mike Tramp but I loved Vito Bratta. His guitar tone was awesome, and he played with such a great touch, I thought.
I guess if a man wants to be left alone, then that's his business, but I know I'd buy a Vitto Bratta solo record.

I think I knew about some of the POTUSA stuff..but not the sunn0)))/boris for Probot stuff. Thanks!!!

I heard Tool's old bassist played in a few projects, but haven't heard any of them.

Yeah ive seen them around the place, but they don't do much for me.

Speaking of bassist. Ex- Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson is working along side Max on an upcoming Soulfly album, plus he has his own band at the moment which seems to be named after an aeroplane.

I have been a big fan of The Crown for a long time. Most of you may know the vocalist Johan Lindstrand started a band called One Man Army and The Undead Quartet.

Marcus Sunesson is now in a band called Engel. The band also includes Niklas Engelin of the short lived band Gardenian, and Passenger. The music is a little mainstream sounding at times, but that doesn't means it sounds bad. I guess bands like Mnemic and Raunchy come to mind.

Magnus Olsfelt, the killer bassist is now in a rock band named Stolen Policecar.

Janne Saarenpää and Marko Tervonen are now in a band called Angel Blake. The music kinda reminds me of Sentenced...I could be wrong.

But that's what all The Crown members are up too.

Todd Strange, (born 1966), is a former bassist who played on the first Down album NOLA and Crowbar. Forming Crowbar with Kirk Windstein (Down), Matt Thomas and Craig Nunenmacher (Black Label Society) they released the best selling albums of the bands discography. This included the Crowbar selftitled LP with the hits "All I Had (I Gave)," "Existence is Punishment," "No Quarter" (by Led Zeppelin) and "I Have Failed" produced by Phil Anselmo. By 1994, Phil put his band Pantera to the side and resurrected Down which was sidelined for Pantera in the late 1990s. The band released NOLA in reference to the band's hometown, New Orleans, Louisiana, and played 13 shows. Eventually, the album sold 500,000 copies and was certified Gold by the RIAA. Soon after Phil returned to Pantera and Crowbar continued, which the two bands partnered up for tours in 1996 for. As a result, Todd, Kirk and the rest of Crowbar appear in Pantera's "Home Video 3" in the credits and Kirk and the band is seen in scenes including the nortious clip of Kirk dressed up as the hulk. This event is also included in Crowbar's 1995 Home Video "Like Broken," but contains slightly different footage.

By the time Down reformed and Crowbar recorded "Sonic Excess in its Purest Form," Todd dropped completely out of music and it is rumored he is a painter or construction worker in River Ridge. It is rumored that Kirk Windstein played bass on NOLA, with Todd taking the role as live bass player.[citation needed]

In June of 2004 Todd made news as "A River Ridge man who shoved his 6 year old son to the ground, causing a blood clot on his brain," who "was arrested on cruelty charges Monday." The paper reported, "The victim's mother told investigators from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's office that Todd Strange, 38, push the boy Sunday about five pm at there home." As for information on his son "the victim's condition was not known Tuesday evening." Ultimately, "Strange was booked with one count of cruelty to a juvenile" and "was released from the Jefferson Parish Corectional Center in Gretna on Monday." The paper contacted Todd who "answered the door of his River Ridge home on Monday but did not respond to requests for comment."
