Anybody here heard it yet? All I can say is holy fuck, the boys are back! Best stuff I've heard from them in the past 15 years or so!

I have not heard it. I'm curious too, where is it? I heard it was better than anything on Load/Reload (and therefore St Anger, too).

Yep, cool song, maybe a tad too long, anyway it's much better than st anger stuff.

Cool 'nuff. I hope they can show up with an album that restores (at least some of) their honor.

There's links to it on Blabbermouth.

I don't really think its anything amazing, but it is MUCH better than anything they've put out since their self-titled. It has a pretty cool intro part, cool riff and all, and the guitar solo in it isn't anything horrible, better than any of the solos Slayer's put over the same period of time.

However, the vocals sound very poor. Given it is still a new song and all, I'm sure there's still some stuff that's going to be changed about it and such, but I don't think I will ever really care for Hetfield's vocals again for at least a while, it just doesn't mesh right with my ears.

James Hetfield's vocals are horrible, his voice is shot, Lars Ulrich is an abysmal drummer nowadays, the downtuned guitars don't fit Metallica at all, their songwriting lacks bite and focus and Jason Newsted's stage presence and backing vocals are sorely missed in a live environment.

Want to know more? Don't get me started... :?

Don't blow your load too quick. It's definitely better than anything on St. Anger, but this is more like stuff from Load and Reload (two great albums, but the way). Don't let Lars masturbating all over the double-bass fool you. Hehehe. Still, promising, but they need to clean it up a bit.

On second thought, I can't find myself caring that much about Metallica anymore. But if it's better than St Anger, I suppose it's something to be happy about.

I still think it's funny how weak his voice got the minute he started to take vocal lessons...

James sounds like a country singer these days. I watched them play "Battery" a few years ago on TV, and it was great until he started singing. Took all of the aggression out of one of their heaviest songs...

really good song considering... st anger *starts to feel cold* i think the inclusion of rob and rick is the reason why they sound like though
