Quite a good record. Those of you who downloaded the six demos he leaked in 2002 have already heard much of what is on here, but the stuff we haven't heard is great. Amon Tobin and Massive Attack do two of the better tracks. The stuff that he uses from the demos are sometimes better here and sometimes better there IMO, but it's all good.

It seems that he didn't let the guests do any creating or arranging and that any contribution other than sound design and/or session muso type performance was for simply producing the track.

I like the idea of this project; hip-hop flavoured, retro coated catchy rock music... It doesn't sound like anyone else around, despite borrowing several classic styles to blend. The characteristic Morricone, surf and kitsch influences are there and help to remove this product from the sphere of many contempories of the top forty realm.

I'm by no means a flag-waver for all of Patton's stuff... While I am well impressed with legendary shit like Disco Volante, Delirium Cordia and Pranzo Oltranzista I'm not too down with stuff like the last Tomahawk album, or even the first one if you're gonna really get down to it. That said, Peeping Tom is pretty damn good and isn't a dissapointment despite the four year build-up.

This could be pretty successful for him too. For one thing, every Faith No More fan in the world will be cheering. This isn't going to weird them out, so it will impress them a hell of a lot. It will be interesting to see how

Can't wait for this, or the subsequent tour he is supposed to be planning. I dig his weirder stuff but i've been waiting for a return to FNM-style form, at least in an Angel Dust type of way (one of my favourite albums).

Going to check this out, no doubt.

P.S. what did you dislike about Tomahawk?

I have heard him calling this his straight up pop record but not in a traditional sense. Some of the collaborations certainly sound interesting, I have not heard any of the demo stuff so I'll be sure to pick it up.

Sounds interesting, I've been waiting a while for this.

I downloaded it. Can't say its to my taste.... Solid, but I can't get into it. I'm kinda underwhelmed because I can't remember the last time I've felt that way about a Patton project.

Holy crap, I take that all back. I guess at the time that I listened to it before, I really wasn't in the mood for a more poppy Mike Patton. This is great stuff, good to see him singing again.

As far as where it stands among Patton's releases, it is among his best. Still think his stuff with DEP was better, though As was Angel Dust and Disco Volante.

I recall him saying "California" was his pop record at one point...so this doesn't really tell me much. I haven't heard about this project...can anyone give me a better idea of what it sounds like?

Even in a slightly drunken phase you had me reading everything. I'll wait until it comes out (like I did with Synchestra, I am a whore with that), but I am VERY excited for this to come out. I lurk on Miike Patton, and even though there's been stuff I've been less impressioned by, I do enjoy everything that he's been a part of.

It's a good album. I think some of his fans were expecting some kind of masterpiece, which this isn't. But it's a good album nonetheless. There are a few songs I don't like much, especially that god damned hip hop track, but there's more than enough good material to make it worthwhile.

I really like the album. There's some very catchy tunes on it.

Fans of later Faith No More and Mr Bungle's California album should totally dig this album. Well...As long as you're open minded to some hip hop elements.

Pretty good album, but I always skip "Getaway".

The packaging on this disc is brilliant! Those who downloaded it should go and buy it as well. Also nice to see Mike playing some instruments, even if the parts are relatively simple.

As a fan of FNM and Mr. Bungle, I'm not really digging Peeping Tom. It's not the hip-hop aspects that put me off. Rather, there are too many mediocre songs for my taste. I do like Your Neighborhood Spaceman, Mojo, and Kill the DJ. Don't Even Trip and Getaway are kinda lame. The rest is just mediocre to me. The first time I listened to it, I thought it had a lot of potential to grow on me, but it never really has after two more spins. I'll give it another try though.

I really enjoy this album, but I'm a huge follower of all things Patton. Don't Even Trip and We're Not Alone are really the standout tracks on this cd, and now I'm even more interested to hear the upcoming collaboration between Patton and Dub Trio. I'm also waiting to hear what the new Massive Attack sounds like since Patton contributed pretty heavily to that as well.

I'm not a fan of Getaway myself either. I thought pairing Patton up with Kool Keith would've wound up so much better, but it just turned up to be some corny track.
