well dev is abusy man and his project vary in styles. theres syl which is sonic mayhem at its bliss. there is dtb which every album offers a diff adventure into his wonderful mind. devlab which is an odd piece kind of new age cocteau twins kind a thing, and hummer to help u relax and sleep. eventually there will be an acoustic record which would totally rule.
but let me add a theory so to speak(who knows maybe planting a seed) how about since he does such variety of musically styles why something dancey. sometihng to groove to something to shake ur ass to, something to hump to in the bedroom with big ass subwoovers placed undr ur bed(no thats not me just to let everyone know) so dev why not tackle dance music ie disco or techno and im not talking about sampling other peoples music and put a beat to it and claiming u wrote it no i mean show all these bastards how to make real music by writng and recording orginal music original drumbeats with a real drummer and org. keyboards and u do have grt singing voice. i mena devlab and hummer are pretty much in the realm of new age. u do rock, so try dance. also would love to hear jazz and classical would be pretty interesting if i do say so. even dare say it polka(although i love vampolka on the new dtb cd makes be bop around car driving ad people looking at me funny like wtf. who else agrees with me and ur thoughts.

You just gotta follow the muse.

I'm sure Dev would be good at it if he worked at it... The first dancey thing Devin attempted was quite good as an ambient thing but the drum samples and beats he used weren't so fantastic. But I'm fairly certain that if he got keen on the idea then he'd spend a bit of time getting good at it and he could deliver a kickin dance thing.

Look, he took what George Clinton said, "Free your mind and your ass will follow", a little too literally. Okay? Besides, maybe his honky tonk badunkadunk felt the need to groove. (Speaking of which, I am now COMPLETELY embarrased by the American music scene. If songs like this ("Honky Tonk Badunkadunk") are allowed to be played, and actually sell well, then surely creativity will leave us like so much trash....<sigh>)

I'm curious as what he could do with something more funky, with bass, and those high pitched and muted notes on guitar, and lots of whaa and things like that.

Detox is the greatest techno song I've heard... In it's own way

Threadstarter: Really, this is by no means meant as an insult or anything... But, seriously... Paragraphs!
