looking for some good irish music something folky some thing modern. i dig some of the chieftan stuff. but wondering about some traditional irsh tunes recently covered or older artist highly recommended.

Dropkick Murphy's and Flogging Molly. Don't know 'bout DM, but Flogging's Irish I believe.

Also, give The Dubliners a listen! Cool stuff, one of my pals love it!

I have a recording of them doing 'Seven drunken nights' which is one of my all time favourite songs... but they only do Monday to Friday :cry:

not very stereotypically irish is it?

Tossers are another Irish punk band, they've been around for quite a long time and when I've talked to any members (which has only been for a short periods a few times), they've been nothing but kind to me.

as do TrollFest, a band with norwegian/german lyrics about drinking beer... Not very serious, but hella fun! :lol:
