OK, I need some help from some guys....it's less than 2 weeks till a special anniversary for me and my bf and I want to do something nice. We've agreed not to buy each other presents or anything, but I'd like to do something really special, but I have no clue! Can anyone help?!

Can you do any crafts? It may be a sly way of getting around presents. Personally, I've felt that even the simplest craft/drawing/poem is an amazing gift.

Or you can just do the classic. Find a nice resteraunt to go to and have a nice meal. There's nothing wrong with the classics.

Well I am by no means an expert in the matter... but I like to write songs. I have written a few for my wife, as she has written one for me. Truly it is a very interesting gift to give, just make sure that it is a happy song and not a depressing one. Learn from my mistakes.

<laughs> that's always the issue with me. I can't write happy music, I have never came up with a happy riff, it just doesn't come out. So I try and stick with acoustic guitar; depressing, but from the heart, just have to make sure it has a pretty melody, then it doesn't matter if it's depressing or not, heh.

If that's possible, spend the whole 24hrs of that day with him :)

Make him mango chutney cheese toasties for breakfast...he will love you forever!!!

Ha!

Seriously though, I agree with the 'crafty' approach. Even a simple poem can say a lot.

I hope it turns out well.

don't take this the wrong way but maybe something kinky that he likes, and a sexy outfit to go along with it.

I agree with most of the things that have already been mentioned here (except for the mango stuff - and when you two go to a restaurant, please make sure there isn't any HAGGIS on the menu), what really matters - no matter how gay this might sound - is that it comes from your heart. When this is the case, it doesn't matter how much effort/ time/ money/ whatever you put into getting or doing it. Hey, you are a musician, so writing a song for him is an obvious choice

Btw, Fragility - great timing. On Friday, me and my girlfriend had our first year anniversary. I wrote her something very personal, and considering the atmosphere, I think it was just the right thing. Although I couldn't invite her to a restaurant since her knees hurt really bad and she prefered staying at home, it was such a good day.
