lately Gwar has intrigued me for some reason. is it worth getting one of their albums or are they more of a live show band? if u think i should try out an album, where is a good place to start?

Also, is it true that some of the lyrics from Far Beyond Metal are from a Gwar song? I'm talking about the 'down in the hall of the necrolord, flash of fear when he sees my sword' part.

They are certainly a great live experience. I can't tell you how surreal it is to be blasted in the face by some green goop streaming from Oderous' giant prosthetic cock. They put on a show like no other.
I would look into Scumdogs of the Universe and America must be Destroyed if I were new to Gwar.

Well, their funniest albums are carnival of chaos and scumdogs of the universe. But their best album is War Party. Their other albums are.....how do i put this....lacking in the musical department. But they really stepped it up on war party.

It's more of a live gimmick but I've been kind of digging War Party... they have some pretty good tracks.

DEV!!! YOU FUCKING RULE.

:D :D :D

I cannot wait to hear this collaboration. Holy shit, I am so excited.

*calms self*

ANYWAYS. Scumdogs is a good way to go, but they really are a live band, so much fun to see. You really can't help but enjoy the live experience, it's such a spectacle. The new album and the one before that are great too. Look for Immortal Corruptor, truly a wicked song.

I have but one humble request Devy, record Far Beyond Metal with them....for the love of that is unholy.

Oh and I would start with Scumdogs and The Violence Has Arrived myself. War Party is damn sweet as well I admit.
