Since there is a ton of Meshuggah talk on this board.....whats your favourite Meshuggah full length album ? I'm going with Chaosphere myself, followed closely by Destroy Erase Improve. What's your's ?

I'd go with "Destroy Erase Improve". "Future Breed Machine" kills!
Or as one of my female friends put it: "This is not music, the is pure insanity".

Chaosphere for sure...that was the first Meshuggah CD I bought in ´99 and it totally blew me away. But DEI is amazing too so that would be my second favorite one.

Tough choice. Maybe DEI, coz it's halfway between old, technical-thrashy meshuggah style and new Headfuck Metal.

"Nothing" on second place, because it has "straws pulled at random", which is most powerful things since invention of hydrogen bomb.

To be honest, the first Meshuggah album I bought was 'Chaosphere' and could not get into it one tiny infintessimal bit....

a few years later I bought Nothing, and aside from 'Rational Gaze' (which is a bitch of a song), I find it too much of a headfuck to be able to enjoy. I mean I can appreciate it when I concentrate hard to listen to it, but I don't want music that you have to concentrate on lest you want a migraine.

so yeah.... i guess by default i vote Nothing.

I've only heard D.E.I. and Nothing, and to be honest, D.E.I. is much better. Nothing was just too damn monotone.

Any of you guys had the luck of hearing Thordendals 'Sol Niger Within' cd? Its absolutely amazing. Id probably say its the best meshuggah-affiliated cd to date. Cant wait for the new EP though!

I´d go for DEI, cause it´s the one that got me hooked...But all their albums has something special. And "Sol niger within" is possible the most screwed up solo album ever made, Thordendal is a wicked man!

Does anyone ever heard the Mayem version of Future Breed Machine ? I found it incredibly full of violence...in my opinion this version is as good as the original one.
