Hahaha! The defense wasn't that bad against Poland I think. As for being overhyped: how so? After the testing matches (especially the 2 - 2 against Japan) the international press tore us a new one. And ze germanz themselves are self-critical to a degree of self-abandonment - or at least used to be. After the two matches in the championships we are starting to become a tiny bit megalomaniac though (but not more than the english for example, and still in healthy doses).

And about the german squad... Ehh, I guess the media hasn't really been saying they're an amazing team or anything like that, but they do seem to be huge favorites around here. Granted, they are the home team and they did make the WC final 4 years ago, so I guess its not completely unfounded... But I think it's a little much.

Italy scored an offside goal in the first half that wasn't actually offside. Gattusso had just come on for Totti and it was one of his first few touches on the ball - a deflected shot that hit the very top corner of the net. It had already been blown down offside and the goalie didnt attempt to save it, but i don't think he had a chance in hell to save it.

I would personally like an Ecuador/Ghana final.. *sigh* and for fatty to score 3 goals for brazil to break the all-time WC scoring record.
