I quite liked it. The imagery was very Opeth-y. I am actually quite surprised that Lasse Hoile hasn't done anything with Opeth before (has he?). This video is very much lik the cover of 'Signify' by PT, but put too motion.

Awesome!

It leaked. Coil is very beautiful. The female vocals are used well.

I had to get it...i will absolutely be buying the album because of the bonus tracks and because i need to keep my Opeth discography up to date!

By the way, Heir Apparent is heavy as hell...and just awesome.

nothing earthshaking

at least its better than GR, though i doubt they would have done something more terrible than that, even if they tried

but oh well!

GR had good parts. But overall this one is better. Has a lot of things they as a band havent done before, which made me happy. Solid release on their part, Heir Apparent is one of the most brutal songs they've ever done.

Wasn't much chance of me not liking this. It is great. The Scott Walker influence is readily apparent, and makes this really quite a different Opeth album.

Yeh I downloaded it aswell (but hey im still gonna buy it!).

This album seems proggy as hell and only 3 songs contain death vocals! although that doesn't really bother me.

I agree about the Scott Walker thing, can hear his influence everywhere! which is great :)

Hessian Peel seems like my fav track so far, whatta prog metal epic!

Burden is one of my favorites. But i just cant get over the fact that they did a song as heavy as Heir Apparent! Hex Omega was a good outro to the album as well.

I completely don't understand what people dislike in this record. It's full of ace, harmonies are superb, there's tons of interesting stuff layered in songs (I like all these hammonds and mellotrons) and singing is great (as usual). Sounds like 100% Opeth for me.
