It's such a sick song, and the production sounds more dynamic than SYL as well.

Many moons ago someone official did indeed request the song not be shared via P2P. The reasoning at the time was that Chicken Feather was brand spanking new and Dev had borrowed a few elements from "Idom" for it. As for why that might have mattered (and this part is purely speculation) there was a lot said about how the self titled disc was the first album by the band after they forged an identity on the road. So since it wasn't technically another Devin Townsend album, it would kind of make promotional sense to not really want to draw attention to just how much he contributed.

As for other tidbits about the track, It was mentioned in an old newsletter as something to the effect of Devin's attempt to capture the sound of giant robots fighting.
