I left that off as I thought it'd be the one most people wouldn't have known.

Hmm, I'd probably have left out Eyes Wide Shut instead as no-one on Earth liked that film. particularly Harvey Keitel.

I've only seen 4 of his movies, so I don't think I should cast a vote.

Still, THE SHINING. :) I never get tired of watching it.

I used to idolise A Clockwork Orange as a teenager, partly because it was at that time banned in the UK and there was a huge illicit thrill in having seen it, let alone owning a 43rd generation VHS copy.
Watching it now though, whilst it is a powerful film, I do not think it does the book justice. I saw the Royal Shakespeare Company production of it back in 1990(? fuck was it that long ago? haha, I bet half of you were born that year) and whilst equally 'controversial' that really didn't hit the targets the book did either.

Incidentally has anyone else read any of the Enderby trilogy, Anthony Burgess's other major oeuvre, about a depressed poet sitting on his toilet? My father made me read it as a teen as a condition of my reading Clockwork Orange. I'm rather glad he did now.

2001: A Space Odyssey is still my favourite by quite a large gradient. I like most of Kubrick's stuff but 2001 is just mind blowing. I was lucky enough to see it on the big screen once whilst on acid, that was quite a memorable evening :D
