I talked to Gene over the weekend at a Dethklok show and he said the new album is some of the most aggressive stuff they've done. He also said that if anyone was disappointed with the last album that they will be very happy with the new one.

ah you fuckin kids. whats wrong with making money from music? its only a problem if it interferes with the musical output, which i doubt it will. musicians need to eat too yknow. not all of them are so lucky to finish a show and get back to their cocaine and 5 women orgies

The term "Sell-out" and the mass attribution of "mainstream" as a negative connotation. Funny funny.

Archetype wasn't a completely dreadful effort. One or two good tracks... Realistically they're probably not gonna get anywhere near the heights of the first three albums ever again. Unless it goes in a cycle of threes and now we're at the beginning of more great stuff after the overall disappointment of Digimortal, Archetype and Transgression... Hmm.

I thought Digimortal had some rather strong tracks. Not the whole album, but it definitely had some decent tracks.

Transgression had maybe 2 good songs and Archetype maybe 3 (including Ascension, the ambient track...that one was awesome!)

Let's hope that having Dino back will make things better.

i think if anything, it was a smart move to go in a heavier direction. i guess there is a big point to prove with this album, a lot of people are gonna be waiting to rip this one apart.

As for the band continuing and not quitting, its kinda hard for us to know how these guys feel. But i rather the band continue this way, than they had with the last 2 albums. they shed a lot of their industrial roots and just began to sound like another mediocre metal band. there were a few good tracks on archetype but nothing that stood out. i'd imagine with Gene and Dino working together, they could pull off some very tasty riff technology 8)

Maybe... if they can hold together their relationship together long enough...

You were supposed to look at the context of the previous statement. You missed the context.

... Which is what I wanted you to do...

Soul Of A New Machine, Demanufacture and Obsolete were beautiful, deadly albums.

Digimortal was kinda synthetic in some way, but still had very strong moments.

Archetype was everything what we heard in the past.

Transgression was without bigger concept... a reminder that Fear Factory is still here.

I expect from the new album that the atmosphere of futuristic armageddon plus perfect balance between rage and technology will reach new level, thanks to Dino and Gene, while Burton will show his skills in combining many styles of singing into heavy, but still melodic performance. Byron should make enough of good distortion, just like he did in Strapping.

I hope they have a solid producer who's not afraid of taking step forward because that was, what we always loved in Fear Factory.

Bring on the fuckin album.
