Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

Can't wait to see this in action. They should test it out on a primary rally during the presidential election. Doesn't matter if it's a democrat or republican rally, it'll be equally entertaining. Just as the candidate walks on stage, aim 24 of these babies at the crowd!

I'd also love to see a ten ton version of this beauty in full Terminator-mode aimed at a neo-nazi rally, the MTV Music Awards, EuroDisney and the Kaba in Mekka during Hajj.

I don't know...a few in the audience look like they're in pain, too.

I could have sworn Dio said his mother invented the horns.

Or maybe my memory is crap.

Indeed, hence the 'supposedly.'
(well, she didn't really 'invent' them, but he took the idea from her and made it popular in rock/metal)

Do you mean to say that the mere existance of this machine somehow matches the inconceivable horror of the Holocaust? Do you think that the US government is planning to use it to exterminate an entire race?

I could inflict unimaginable pain on you with a blowtorch, or a soldering iron, or a fucking pair of pliers, for that matter. Torture is already so horrible that there is little anyone can do to make it "worse". I heard of this device years ago, it seems. I imagine it is more humane for crowd dispersion than live rounds, at any rate.

It may be a horrible device, but that article was sensationalist amd reactionary. The nature of warfare makes it necessary for you to come out with the next horrendous weapon before your enemy beats you to the punch.

One of the worst forms of torture only needs water drops.

True. So, just step out of the game. Simple as that. No more violence-games.

And how would that accomplish anything?

Violence will always be around somewhere I suppose. As a matter of fact, it might even be necessary in a twisted way. Since competition, conflicts or war often breed technological/scientific advances. Some of those even get useful purposes after wars. Peace makes people content and keeps things stagnant in general. While eventually leading to underlying irritation anyway. Actually, it's kind of like physics laws that describe our universe. The closer something is to balance, the bigger the tendency gets towards disorder.

I don't know.
What has been accomplished by all the warfare and violence?
What should be accomplished? Gandhi accomplished indepence for India through total non-violent civil disobedience.

Retribution: might just be like that. But I'd like to think a more peaceful way of "progress" possible. It would maybe seem a bit awkward to talk about the evolutional necessity of war to a man who has just lost his family, house, and limbs in a bombing.

Whether that machine is real or not, some countries are still heading towards a '1984'-esque society. Look at the UK for example. Our government is pushing towards a national DNA library. i.e. they want a sample of DNA from EVERY SINGLE UK citizen. For what purpose? Identifying perpetrators of crime? So they find out who did it, it won't help much with finding the perp. Also, this proposal of national I.D. cards. The cards will supposedly hold all of the individuals details e.g. name, address, DOB, national insurance number, blood type...everything! We're having our freedom slowly drawn out of us. Next they will be putting tracking devices under out skin, and CCTV in our homes.

1984?...more like 2007 I say.
