The women's Canadian hockey team is probably going to beat our USA women's team... thats about the only thing I've been watching this olympics besides the snowboarding.

Yep, the Canadian women's team is pretty impressive.

And...I was watching curling this morning while the coffee was brewing...I admit it... I'd much rather be at home watching the Olympics than stuck here at work, that's for sure.

Thousands of football (or soccer,as you'd call it) fans across Europe wish this was the truth. Maybe the team owners/ managers in the US are far more clever than the ones over here, I don't know. But quite a few soccer teams have or had huuuge financial problems. They paid a shitload more than the market beared.

Ok... Off topic!

But I still love Curling, you know.

Much as I wish I did, I don't follow European football closely. I only get two channels over here that show Premier and Bundesliga football. Sigh.

Anyway, I didn't realize that. It seems like the guys running the NFL, the Major League Baseball, and NBA have plenty of money. That's what I was commenting on. I'm surprised to hear that about E.Football since that's the biggest sport in the world. Hmmm.

Was that off-topic? I didn't notice. :)

Of course, there's still LOTS of money involved in the bigger European Football Leagues, especially since the TV stations really multiplied the money they pay for the broadcasting rights during the last ten years or so. Pay-TV started to grow, for example. But I think the fact that there were a few years were things got constantly bigger and the clubs got more and more money made some managers lose their sense for reality and they paid millions and millions for new players, calculating already with money that they didn't have yet. Then the viewers' interest decreased - there were just too many games on television, some competitions were changed in order to have more games (which, of course, means more money...) - and the new contracts that were made with the TV stations didn't guarantee the teams as much money as they used to. I think especially some clubs from Italy suffer from that now, year after year they are close to not getting the license for the next season.

Yup. Hey, we got the bronze tho! :D I was really pulling for him (Toby Dawson), especially since he's adopted from Korea...both of my brothers were adopted from there as well under similar circumstances.

Isn't his girlfriend Alyssa Camplin, the Aussie gold medalist (and gum saleswoman)? It's a... small world... or somethin'.

Yes, thank you thank you.

We are a small planet, and most of our team was killed in an asteroid collision on the way to Earth.

Lrrr, our greatest remaning athlete (and fearless leader) will be trying out for the skijump.
