Yeah Meddle is pretty good too, Echoes is a great song.

Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is an insane album. I definitely have to be in the right mood to appreciate it. Syd sure was a talented guy.

For some reason I don't actually own any Pink Floyd albums, so apart from the more well-known songs, I'm pretty unfamiliar with the vast majority of their work.

I went to audition for a band once, and while I didn't get the gig, I did spend a whole afternoon jamming with them, and inbetween jams they were passing around joints and listening to Pink Floyd. I don't recall what album it was, but I've always wanted to get it. Little help? The only thing I do remember was that there was hardly any vocals and that there was a bit that kind of sounded like whales.

If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. :)

I would say you had been listening to "Echoes" - a track that originally occupied the entire side 2 of their 1971 album "Meddle"...and has only a couple of verses at the beginning and one more near the end. :)

I heard from a friend that there's this big reggea all-star ensemble (the something something All Stars) who recorded a reggea version of DSotM entitled Dub Side of the Moon. It's considered a brilliant take on a brilliant album, but unfortunately I've never heard it.

At the moment they're busy recording a reggea version of OK Computer. Should be good stuff. :)

I gotta go with Piper at the Gates of Dawn myself, I just love how out there it is for the most part.
