Damnit, see, this is why I hate top 10's. I'd forgotten about:

Ulver "Blood Inside"
Oceansize "Everyone Into Position"
Cave In "Perfect Pitch Black"
Jesu "Jesu"
Frantic Bleep "Sense Aparatus"
Darkane "Layers of Lies"
30 Seconds to Mars "A Beautiful Lie"
As I lay Dying "Shadows Are Security"
CKY "An Answer Can Be Found"
Coheed and Cambria "Good Apollo..."
Cold "A Different Kind of Pain"
Demon HUnter "The Triptych"

Unfair, I say. It's too difficult. On any given day, I could be more in a mood to hear the above listed than my original top 10. So, I'll just list my "glad they were made" in 2005

The above listed
SYL "Alien"
Riverside "Second Life Syndrome"
Gojira "From Mars to Sirius"
Nevermore "This Godless Endeavor"
Opeth "Ghost Reveries"
Meshuggah "Catch 33"
RA "Duality"
Dark New Day "12 Year Silence"
Scar Symmetry "Symmetric in Design"
King's X "Ogre Tones"
Depeche Mode "Playing the Angel"
Kaddisfly "Buy Our Intentions, We'll Buy You a Unicorn"
Kamelot "The Black Halo"
Life and Times "Suburban Hymns"
Pain "Dancing With the Dead"

I think it's the greatest thing I've ever heard in my life. I guess it just takes a bit of concentration to extract the beauty.

Possibly.... Dev gave it to me right when SYL was wrapping up the mixing/mastering process for Alien in early 2005 .

I think it was early 2005 that Devlab was released. It may have been late 2004. Either way, it was one of my fave albums in 2005 to listen to after hitting the Bong

Hmm I thought it was an '05er....if it is, it'd probably bump something off my list and get on there (on 7th listen, really loving it).

Omg someone else has heard of Biomechanical! Yay!

A commendable EP I just heard the other day is Beneath The Massacre, they're technical/brutal death metal (with some 'core breakdowns that I forgive them for) and besides having some strange production quirks they are awesome and addictive as fuck. I can't wait for their full length =P
